Right.....
I was in Berkeley in the 70's ( bet you don't know what I'm talking about ;-) )
Don't worry when you get older , she will still be younger :-) but then again. My wife is younger by 3 years but has been accused of being my mom.

Had a seemingly rare sunny day this weekend and I was able to get out with my Sigma 150/2.8:

it's killer.... there's this magnificent magnolia tree down the road from my ex-girlfriends place that i keep wanting to get a picture of, but every time i go visit it's raining. if it were a nice light rain, i'd be fine taking my camera over to it to shoot it, but it just keeps on with the heavy rain....

I'm jealous of the flowers as well... it's 36 degrees with the wind chill and raining here.

48 at 8am and soon to be 73 with no clouds at all maybe 90 by the end of the week.
At least in Canada you have the health system but then again there is the 50% in taxes.

nobody knows what the future of our health care will be, the Canadian population is getting to big and to be able to maintain the same health care setup that we currently have. We are likely to see some privatisation to help alleviate some of the financial stresses on the government.

I think it's unfortunate. But if it's what we have to do, we have to do it.

I'm just hoping the same structure will still exist, but just have the health care opened up so that there are more private practices for people to be able to choose to pay for more immediate care instead of suffering long wait times and such. Time will tell.

or it will all colapse.

We also pay for our health care in the form of 13% sales tax on everything we buy in some of the provinces... (some are more lucky and have a lower tax)

it's bitter sweet.

We are starting in on double digit sales tax but don't pay nearly as much in income tax. Just close your borders to immigration. Don't privatize it will cost way too much.
Any country that can elect a "Porn King" as a PM just has to survive!

haha...

problem with closing our borders to immigration is that Canada has a negative growth rate... apparently we don't like to have babies.... so we need other countries to do it for us.

however, there would be tons of benefits to closing down the borders or making the immigration standards a lot higher. I'm sure our income taxes wouldn't be nearly as high if we didn't have to pay for everyone else to live who aren't paying their own way...

there's a lot of people who take disability and unemployment who really don't need either, but are just lazy. And i'm sure you guys in the states get a lot of that too.

oh well. I'm curious to see what's going to happen with our gov't in the next little while, we just had an election yesterday as our government was overturned back in march due to the PM spending a little more money then he was admitting to. Could be interesting times ahead....

Canadian women are hot, which is why I married one and had babies with her. She hates the snow and ice. It might get to be 80 today.
