H&R, EIbach or KW Lowering Springs Please Help

Hi Guys,

Am looking to lowering my '14 M5. Currently the car is sitting on its stock 19' rims but am planning to change it to a 20' BBS FI/RI in the near future.

So based on these things I need some recommendations from all you guys on what would be the best buy for me:

1. I love the comfort of the M5, so I would like the feeling to be as "Stock" as possible

2. I would like the car lowered but still look nice, so not all the way to the floor

Out of these 3 selections (KW, Eibach, H&R) or any others, what would be the best option for me? Please advise...

Many Thanks

Well Inhave ACS and i love it!
The ride is amazing and took it to very twisty roads up here in Ny in 7 lakes and Bear Mt. Just ask Dennis aka routerunner. It handled amazing and dennis has swift springs on his.

I would highly recommend the KW out of those 3. Has the most comfortable ride with the ability to set the ride height as you please.

Out of the choices you listed I would recommend KW.

1. Adjustable ride height
2. Ride quality superior to the rest mentioned

Cost does come into play in any decision, but the cost for KW seems to be the best bang for your buck.

If you have any question feel free to contact me.

Hi thanks so much for the information, where can I get these ACS springs from and how much will it cost? the drop looks good.

Swift is known to be very good but also very harsh in ride as it is really built for the track, so is the ACS pretty stiff to in terms of ride quality?

Seems like, according to your preferences, I think your best bet would be Eibach Prokits. Comfort-wise the H&R is too bouncy and the KW would be too stiff? I can't validate that latter claim, just going by that KW is more track oriented. Height-wise, the H&R's are too raked to the front and you don't need the slammed look that the KW can offer.

I currently have the Eibachs and I came from H&R. I didn't like how it dropped and it's too bouncy also. I like how the Eibachs ride but I do want it just a tad lower. So if I had to do it all over again, I'd go for the KW because the Eibachs weren't low enough for my taste.

I had HR for thousands of miles loved them and I had 0 issues and I drive my car as I tended. I then switched to KwV3 and have put thousands of miles on them. Street or track they are the best out there for our M5.

I put V3's on my car and was worried I'd sacrifice ride quality with the EDC delete. It was immediately evident V3's dampening and compression is far superior to stock and the ride quality was amazing. It's a larger financial commitment but worth looking into if handling and performance gains (not just aesthetics) are on your wish list.

EDC delete means you no longer have the ability to electronically adjust the dampers. KW V3 is a coilover system with both springs and dampers, thus replacing your OEM dampers and "deleting" your EDC.

You will still have EDC since you're just changing out your springs.

I have the KW HAS kit. The ride is great. Not bouncy, still have EDC and can adjust the height.

I'm not really sure what they are set on. I had them installed at EAS and they set them. I've since put my stock wheels back on and the ride and ride height is still perfect IMO.

Any chance you can post some pics of what your KW HAS setup looks like with the stock wheels? I'm also thinking of getting the KW HAS springs, but I plan to use the oem style 601 stock wheels. Funny thing is that I have searched several times for pics of F10 M5s dropped on the 601 wheels and can't find one single picture. Even if you have the 343 stock wheels, I would love to see what they look like with the KW HAS. Btw, I would also get them from EAS since I'm located in the LA area. Thanks.
