I ran a 305 drag radial on a stock rim without spacers and I was fine.

This is my old car on a 20" 305 drag radial. No spacer.

More info on the DR you ran on stock 343? Size/brand? Thanks.

Have you run Cup2 before? How many miles do you think it'll last with normal driving?....6-7k miles? (thats about how much my yearly mileage is). I've ruled out R888R on stock 343m, but looking for more traction from a dig. Thanks.

I have not run the Cup 2s before. But yeah, I think one could expect less than 10K miles on a set for sure.

Those particular Nitto 555R 305/35-20 DRs are listed at 12.17" wide vs 305 PSS 12.30" wide. So about an 1/8" inch which is negligible.

Thanks. I dont think the 35 sidewall will clear an H&R spring drop unfortunately

I have a 16 F10 M5 CP with 630 HP to the wheels, and I'm on the Pirellis that the car came with from factory :
Literally the same situation for me, except I have a 16 m6 with 630whp and mpss and they can't hang! I talked to tire rack for a while today and they said the 4s will be about the same as the mpss. Bridgestone had an RE11 that was amazing before but stopped making them? The only option at this point is the Michelin pilot sport cup 2, they are a lot better and don't sound super loud and aren't heavy like the r888

Haha funny to find you on here Brian, glad you're enjoying the m6. If I remember correctly you're running bootmod3? How is it? I've been hearing good things about it

Stealth what about traction and longevity? Maybe longevity is too soon to be asked but overall compare to lots of experience you have with MPSS how this 4S stands?

Stock 343M M5 is 9" wide on front and 10" wide on rear. Manufacturers recommend Max 275 for 9" and 295 for 10"

Stock 343M M6 is 9.5" wide on front and 10.5" wide on rear. Manufacturer recommend Max 285 for 9.5" and 315 for 10.5"

BUT there are tons of threads people installed 305 on stock 343M M5.
So basically you can install those tires but it's not the right thing and you will see side effects such as negative chamber or unusual worn or stress on tire

275/35/20 needs 9-11" wide rim

285/35/20 needs 9.5-11" wide rim

295/30/20 needs 10-11" wide rim
https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...omCompare1=yes

305/30/20 needs 10.5-11.5" wide rim

315/30/20 needs 10.5-11.5" wide rim

I have never had a car long enough to wear out the PSS. My 2014 M5 had about 16k miles when I sold it and was still over 4/32.

Michelin says the PS4S lasts as long or longer than the PSS.

Pirellis last less long, and have less grip. I was at 4/32 on my Pirellis at 9k miles on the Porsche. My Jag also wore the Pirellis fast.

So Pirelli has less grip and less life. Tire rack tests say the same about the new Pirelli PZ4.

I have had the PSS on 20" OEM wheels for the first two years and was super content with traction and wear and overall driving experience. I have changed to the 4s for this summer. Can't say anything about wear yet but overall driving experience is similar. The only thing that I notice is that traction is definitely much lower compared to PSS in daily driving situations as the DSC kicks in much more often than before. And I am using the car as my daily driver and I am not pulling off any stunts her. Haven't even used launch control yet.

The DSC intervention is even after a breaking in the tyres? That is surprising, if so.
