The weather is starting to get nice, and I'm considering catless downpipes and BMS to compliment the Akrapovic exhaust and Gruppe intake.

Is there a chance my warranty could be jeopardized?
have any of you had problems?
is it worth it?
Would it be best to have a professional instal the downpipes or could this be done in my own garage?

the service manager didn't have much knowledge on the matter.... so may have to talk to the mechanic next time I'm at the dealership.

I've searched previous posts (most from 2013) and I am still confused because I read conflicting information.

Any insight is appreciated greatly.

I have no plans on selling the car and when my warranty is over September 2016 I will consider the extentension.

Best is to confirm with your service advisor.
Each dealership is different with policies.
For example, one of my clients moved out of state and I installed full catless GT Haus exhaust, etc. and when he went in for a non emission drivability complaint the dealership made the client pay to put the vehicle back to factory before they would do a diagnostic.
At the end, he had to pay for installation and removal of the cats for no reason at all. Just that dealerships policy.

I'd ask around if x dealer is mod friendly on any of the other sites like e90/m3post

Bottom line with something like downpipes or BMS if you're in a situation where you think you might have done catastrophic damage to the car best to have all that stuff removed.

But if you go in a B&O speaker buzzing noise and you have DP's and BMS on they're not going to FLAG your warranty and freak out on you.
