Great response, LOL. Dollar for dollar, Z06. It smokes GTRs, Porsche Turbos, etc.

Rear seats in the 2 and the 3 are purely aesthetic. Don't consider them 4-seaters. IMHO.

You need to review the rear leg room in the M3 vs the M5. Because the front seats of the M5 are so deep/thick the M3 rear seat space is pretty comparable. I think the M3 has one inch less legroom in the rear versus the M5.

There is no way the Z06 smokes a Porsche 991 Turbo S on anything other than possibly an Airport Runway.

And quite frankly straight line speed is for weak and feeble people. Real men prefer street circuits.

Lol yeah it sure is, a tremendous track car. I was impressed by the lap times it put up at Sachsenring, barely slower than 918 and much quicker than the likes of 458 and 911 TTS.

Actually Z06 does smoke it on the track. Z06 is faster than 991 TTS.2 in Auto Bild's track test, almost two seconds faster around the Sachsenring (within a second of 918). And while C&D didn't test the 991 TTS at the comparison test, the Z06 was 3 seconds faster than the Huracan around the track, and more than 5 seconds faster than the 991 GT3 and 458, the only car faster on that track was the 918.

So on the contrary, the only thing 991 TTS beat the Z06 in these tests was in the straight line. But I will admit that I will still take the 991 TTS over the Vette.

You sir, have been living under a rock if you think Corvette Z06 are only good for straight lines. Go to any race track and you'll see the Z06 embarrass the best Germans and Italian exotics that cost many times its price.

The 2015 Z06 model had overheating issues on the track. The 2016 model addressed those cooling issues.

2016 Corvette Z06 Nurburgring time: 6m59s
991 TTS: 7m18s

The 2016 Turbo S supposed to have a sub 7 sec time, but Porsche won't report the numbers because they believe it will touch the time of their halo car 918. I think it's marketing BS, because 20 extra HP will not improve the time by more than 18s.

But yes, I too would take a used 991 Turbo S over a brand new Z06 any day of the week.

Actually a correction here, the 7:18 is for the newest 2017 TTS, and it was a simulation, not an actual run.

Porsche said since the speed limit is in place, right now they simulated that the TTS can do 7:18. But the ban will be lifted later and they will do an actual run, but they guarantee that it will at least do 7:18 because they were conservative in the simulation.

I apologize then. But was the Z06 time set before or after the speed limits were introduced?

I'm not aware that Z06 has a set time, I believe it doesn't have one yet, and certainly not 6:59.

Correct. Z06 is not that fast. That time was a rumor and GM came out and said that they were unable to run the full track.

There was a huge thread at corvette forum.

With that said, in real people's hands it's far easier to drive the 911 at the limit than the Z06. I went to a mountain run with my 911 GTS and HPE1000 Z06 and he had a hard time keeping up with me in the turns. At first he claimed that traction control was too intrusive then the car started sliding all over we he turned everything off.

Again, not pro drivers. In real people's hands.

I own z06, 911tts and m6. Here is last roll race between 911 and z06. I chose roll because 911 destroys it off the line. Z06 driver hit it first.

EEeeeazzzee. Lets not get too overzealous. I just ordered a 2017 911 Turbo S. Yes, the Z06 is an unparalleled value, most definitely. That said... I'll stop here.

I have to agree ... best car i have owned with 4 doors.

Love the Z0sicks and 911 TTs. Chevy has a killer bang for the buck!

Love my m5. Those on this forum who know me know I drive mine like I stole it. But the question was what would a person buy after the m5. I like all sorts of cars. Not because one is slower or faster, costs a leg or arm, and not because a professional can lap us so called proclaimed speedsters. I am pretty fast though. Lol. But I like the vette z06 and that was my choice over any of the other cars. Hell I could have said I like the Shelby gt 350 which is a good car to me. We all have diff tastes. None better than the other person.
Come get some.

Love the CTSV however I would not trade my M5 in for it. Just my opinion. I'd rather move to an AMG
