Bimmian Integration Cable

I recently bought a cable from Bimmian that says it will integrate my ipod with my car but it won't do so. The cord will connect, charge and play music via the aux part but it won't let me control the playlists through the car as it states. Trying to see if anyone else has this issue if they have bought from them. Does anyone know where I can get the acutal BMW cable other than the dealer? I think they were asking 300+ for it.

I also know that iOS 8.3 causes issues with the car and i'm sure that's part of the problem too.

nevermind found the solution. that was a frustrating 2 months

so i was under the assumption that I needed the Y-cable in order to integrate my ipod/iphone with the idrive system...so i went and got one from both bimmian and BMW. after trying both cables all i could do was connect the devices to the car but had to still control everything from the device itself (USB showed not connected in iDrive). today i decided to use the lightning cable supplied with the device and what do you know....the damn thing worked! so now i have 2 y-cables that are useless to me but thankfully i can control everything on my devices via the iDrive controls.
