So M-B, you'll be getting your raised limiter back along with some much needed hp/tq. That is good. Hope it all works out. Would be great.

My M5 already makes more than 700bhp at the crank, but they will empty the primary cats, do a better remap and remove the limiter. It would be nice to get even more bhp, but the main reason is the speed limiter. I hit it with the MD pack at 314 km/h on the speedo or 195 mph. I am hoping to see over 215 mph when ready.

When you bought your car did you ever ask BMW rep how many people purchased the m package. Would be nice to know the ratio of haves and have nots.

I was one of the first to buy an M5 in my country and I was happy that they offered it from the first day. I don't know the ratio, but I believe only in Germany a lot of people would buy it.

Got back from PP Performance Germany. First we put my Manhart Racing MH5S on the MAHA dyno to see if the power is really there. Well it was less than what they said, so not as much as when they dynoed the car on their Dynojet. I guess the Maha is the only dyno giving true figures.

The car made 706.3 bhp at the crank. Then we took out the Manhart parts, went catless downpipes and installed PP Performance parts and remapped the ecu's again. Car now makes 790.5 bhp at the crank and feels a lot more powerful. So far no cell at all. The 155 mph limiter is gone.

I wanted to test if I could go over 190 mph, but traffic didn't allow me more than 180 mph. I don't have official proof yet that the old M Drivers pack limiter is gone (although BMW said it is, since it was downgraded to 155 mph). But 200 mph is a serious speed and I don't want to jeopardise my or anyone elses life.

Conclusion: PP Performance created one serious M5 with loads of power, no cell and most likely no speed limiter.

Isn't that strange...

BTW Auto Bild Sportscars is arranging a new top speed event on the 17th-18th of may at the Contidrom in Germany.

AC Schnitzer will be there and do a new run with their M6 GC. Guess they might have found a way round the transmission limiter that set in at 320km/h last time at Nardo!
