New Delivery

Hey guys, I wanted to share some exciting news and let you all know that I will be receiving a new delivery. It's due end of January, 2016. I am already preparing and doing the shopping as you can see from the picture.
I wanted to ask you for advice on the baby seats and your experience with them as well as protecting the seats. Thank you all and I knew this was important to me as I treat this board as a second family.

The Recaro ones are when they get older. I guess I need to figure out options for when the baby is born. Front facing or rear facing, etc.

Recarro doesn't get very good ratings. We bought Chico fit 30 when my daughter was under one. She out grew that and now uses a Chico next fit, pretty much top rated. Your not supposed to face them forward until 2 years now.

Thanks guys. I forgot to mention it's a girl. She is gonna be one quick M driver. I need to research on strollers, car seats and bases. I was hoping you guys would be the best resource.

Congrats! My wife and I had our first son in January, and I got the M5 in March...we have the Uppababy Mesa, it's awesome and fits a lot of stroller options (Uppababy and other brands). I'm 6'3" and the baby seat is behind me, fits with no problem.

Highly recommend the seat.

Congrats. I have had baby seats in my M cars - all I have ever done is put a large towel folded in half between the baby seat and the car seat and it works really well to protect the car. Never had any issues at all.

Perhaps she will be the next Sabine ?

Thanks!!!
That's the solution I was looking for rather than spending a grip on seat protectors.

I hope she is the next Sabine, but at the end of the day I hope she chooses what makes her happy. If I can learn anything from my relationship with my folks I would definitely not want my kid to fulfill my own dreams.

I like that baby seat a lot. Any idea what strollers it will work with?
I am 5'7" so I would not have any issue with the seat behind me haha.

We got the graco infant child seat. It was great! You leave the child in the carrier while transporting them in and out of the car. It was the great for 1.5 year and then they outgrew it. It can also be attached to a snap and go stroller so you don't need to get them off the carrier and onto a stroller. This helps a lot esp when he/she is asleep

I'm not aware of all options, but we have used it with the Uppababy Cruz and Vista, the Thule Jogger, and the City Mini GT. All great strollers.

Graco seems to have a lot of good reviews. Yes, the more she sleeps the better for me and my sleep, but I dont expect much of sleep in the first year.

This is similar to what I have... but with a racing stripe design of course. We used it for our two kids when they were infant and they worked very well. I like the fact you can buy additional base if you have multiple cars. The weigh is rated for 35lbs but frankly if the baby reached 35lbs and you are still using this, you will have a hard time lifting this carrier with the baby in it. We switch to a next level (rear facing) at 1.5, i know the rules/law states you have to keep them in an infant seat until 2 years old.

Good luck on your selection and enjoy!

Guys, I knew posting this here was the best thing to do. The amount of information I gathered is a lot more than from my multiple visits to baby stores. Thank you for being an informal family.
