Learning F10 and looking to buy. Quick question.

I'm looking at used M5s and after some research narrowed down what I want option wise. One option i feel i really want is the competition package. This wasn't offered in 2013 and prices on a 2014 with it vs a 2013 without are much higher. I plan on changing some of the parts that it modifies so having that stuff isn't necessary. Exhaust, wheels, lowering springs, power. The things I want it for are the additional suspension mods, steering programming, and rear diff programming. Can you get the programming done to a non competition package car? What bits of the suspension are different besides the springs. Thx.

You can get a CP tune, but might as well flash tune if youre removing DME's. Sway bars are stiffer on CP, which can be had for a few hundred...or buy Dinan. Differential is not programmable on non-CP.

Springs are 10mm lower on CP, but again, you can buy KW HAS or coilovers. The headlights, kidneys, and night vision are also different on 14 CP.

They offered led headlights on 2014 or totally different housing? Kidneys can be upgraded or different shape so not interchangeable? Night vision not caring about. It was programming of diff and steering. Power im getting a tune. Also i heard tails were updated but i assume the newer ones would be plug and play. Most of the stuff is im guessing. Just worried about what isn't, especially rear diff and steering programming.

If I were you, I would buy 14+ CP in a couple months. Prices are coming down steadily

What I'm thinking with new one coming soon. Maybe this summer. I drive too many miles to buy it new. I kill cars with miles.
