Ok here's my unusual F10 discovery

The heated seats are by a mile the most powerful heated seats I've ever experienced. If I kept them on high I think the seats would catch on fire.

Funny you mention that, BMW seats have been known to catch on fire!

Thats great, I assume that means they will warm up quicker as well. How about the ventilated seats? I didn't use them much in Germany, has anyone had a chance to use them on a hot day?

.... think of it as being a convectional oven ... fan blowing & re-circulating the hot fan around

I prefer ventilated seats. Had them in several vehicles now.

They worked quite well while I was driving on ED.

Also note that you can combine them, turn the seat heater on and then set the ventilation option to 1. That will effectively give you warm circulating air instead of just heat on touch points.

HOT seats

OK, I'm not saying how I know this...but...the hot seats in the smart Fit 4 2 blow these seats away...........I'm just sayin' (disclaimer: the previous opinion is on the final high temperature reached by the front passenger seat of the M5 and the other throw away car mentioned in this post as determined by fanny feel of a disinterested party and is in no way a rendering of opinion of any other function, design, quality or value of said M5 seating.)

Didn't know that was possible, I really need to read the owner's manual cover to cover.

I agree, the heated seats get very very hot. The manual also states that after a certain amount of time the ventilated seats go from 3 blue lights to 2 blue lights in order to keep the seats from being overworked or something. But yeah the ventilated seats keep you way cooler than the E60 M5's ventilated seats.

I could only personally take the heated seat setting on number 1, that was perfect for me.

I think the ventilated seats could use a little more oomph. They seem slightly better than the E60, but I've sat in a Cadillac that was like ice on your butt.

Regardless, it's an awesome feature.
