Confirmed F10 M5 Ceramic Brakes option code and 19" winter wheels

I have confirmed the F10 M5 option "2NK" is "M Carbon Ceramic Brakes"
Also confirmed you have to have the 20" wheels with this option. 19" will not fit

No info yet on when it will be available or any other details

Info is still very scarce.

There are some 19" winter wheels that look like the same or very similar design as the 20" ones. But they are 9J all round and not 10J in the rear like the standard wheels. They have a different offset on the rears though.
Not available from the factory but dealer can get

Winter Tires from BMW:
255/40/19 Pirelli W240 Sotto Zero II
255/35/20 Dunlop SP Wintersport 3D

Thanks again, I've been wondering about the winter wheels. Are they available in both 19" and 20" as the Dunlop are 20"?

Best regards,
south

Currently only 19" winter wheels listed.

I wonder if the 20" winter tires would fit the normal 20" wheels as they are 10J against the front 9J

As I mentioned earlier, lots of info is still missing

So what are the standard blue brake calipers and what colour are the M brakes that you said here.

Also this option is not on any configurator?

The standard "Blue caliper" brakes are normal floating steel brakes.

No word on the color for the ceramic brakes yet.

They are not on any of the configurators and are seemingly not a option initially available but will be at a later date

According to the M5 product manager they are planning on having blue calipers on all the M5's and possible future M cars. Also the lead engineer stated in the test the ceramic brakes perfumed worst in all situations except repeated very hard braking.... Longer stopping distances... But the market demands them!

Do you know the mfg. of these wheels? I'd be very interested to know since I always use -1 for my winter wheels and would like to keep the car's 'look' as similar as possible from summer to winter.

Yup, I've never understood the demand for ceramic brakes. I know a lot of racers (am one myself), and we all use steel brakes. Why would you need ceramic brakes on a street car?

I guess they keep the brake dust down, but that's a lot of money to pay for clean wheels.
