RKP F10 M5 "McRae" Splitters are here!

The RKP F10 M5 splitters were a true labor of love. More than just an exterior accessory to enhance the look of F10 M5s all over the world, the new RKP splitters allowed us to create an idea that originated directly in the enthusiast community. Although playing a role in the creation of a new part is always exciting, taking a component from an M5 fan’s mind, creating a prototype, and finally producing a finished product has been especially rewarding.

The RKP splitters for the F10 M5 were designed to mimic BMW’s own Performance splitters for the E9x M3 chassis cars, but, with RKP’s usual attention to detail and design the base part is enhanced to respect the original body lines of the M5. Special attention was paid to the sharp crease present in the side openings of the M5 bumper, and a sweeping transition gives the splitter a complex but elegant reflection in any light.

The splitter is available in 1x1 plain weave, 2x2 twill weave, pre-painted in any color and a host of custom options. Each splitter installs to the M5 bumper with double sided tape along the top edge, and by re-using original BMW mounting hardware along the bottom for perfect fit and an extremely secure installation. The splitters are incredibly flexible and light, but are reinforced in critical mounting areas with 12k woven carbon for additional strength.

Dear M5 enthusiasts, please enjoy the first photos of your M5Post designed RKP splitters!

The splitters can be viewed on the IND website below:

With these, you can smoke the AWD E63S and RS7 from 0-60 due to the increased downforce and the +30whp! 991? The dark-siders will regret ever laying eyes on the P-car.

Looks great, IND - price painted body color azurite black?

Nice, I checking out your website for ordering.

The splitter is available in 1x1 plain weave, 2x2 twill weave, pre-painted in any color ? what do you mean, 2 x2 twill weave is a better carbon fibre use? I thought it is in carbon fibre why we need it to be painted ? sorry for so many questions.

No problem! In simple terms, 1x1 or "plain" weave is a more dense weave pattern with tighter overlapping carbon strands. 2x2 "twill" weave has broader strips of overlapping carbon.

1x1 plain weave is less noticeable as carbon fiber from a distance. As you back away from the car the dense weave pattern blends together and looks more like a black front lip. 2x2 twill weave, because of the larger pattern, is more noticeable from far away, and therefore less subtle. Which weave you choose is really a matter of personal preference. Do you want the carbon to stand out from a distance, or do you prefer a more subtle look?

Although these pieces are constructed from 100% carbon fiber, some people still prefer to have a splitter set that is painted body color or gloss black, as this option is possible also.

Frozen clear is a semi-gloss clear coat, giving the splitters a matte look. It's the same clear coat used in BMW's Frozen paints.

Below is a photo comparing 1x1 and 2x2 weave, with 1x1 weave shown on top and 2x2 weave shown on the bottom:

These photos are of frozen clear carbon:

VS a gloss clear carbon piece:

You can see that the gloss clear carbon has a much higher shine, and more of a "wet" look.

Quick question - if you were to take these off would the double sided tape damage the paint or would it just leave a mark that could buff out?

It is just a glue, there will be no damage.

It's 3M automotive grade adhesive.. the same stuff the M5 badge is affixed with. From the photos they have that running down the one edge and it's also secured into the bumper using three OEM mounting points.
