I think this car looks much better resolved than the E60. I think it looks very nice. Perhaps could be a little more aggressive, but that is a small criticism

I am in no doubt this will smash the competition.......
I can't believe some americans are saying this is too big...... your surrounded by vast space! The whole point of an M5 is to take up to 5 people, comfortably, and fast. This will no doubt do that, and honestly do you really think BMW are gonna make a car that dosn't go round corners!? the guys at merc and audi just fell back in their chairs with a huge 'here we go again' sigh.

The line from the back of the roof to the beginning of the boot is so well resolved. So much better than the E60. As long as they haven't messed up the engine with the turbos this car will be awesome

coming back and reading all the replies has shocked me, i think the old M5 looks dated, the new car looks much more grown up and elegant yet underlined with menace. I think all their new line of cars are the most beautiful yet!
Also the interiors of the new bmw range far surpass the horrid interiors of the last gen! BMW has pushed away from the Audi & Merc and brought us class on levels that they just cannot fathom! |

I like the look!
I'd love to see a comparo with the E39. Everytime I park my car next to an E60, I am astounded at how much bigger the E60 looks (and is). The thickness in the bonnet and overall size almost make the E39 look like an 8 series!! If the new M5 is bigger again, then I will feel I'm driving a go-kart Having said all that, the one thing I've never grown to like in the last two generations of BMW styling is the straight bonnet line. All my cars have the kidneys incorporated with the bonnet, and the lines seem to flow so much better from the front. This time the roundel isn't even on the bonnet!! I guess there is no way back now.

Well, I don't like the diffuser on the F10 but I really like the wheel arches You can't really say the E60 is a looker when compared to the F10. The F10 is much more settled, feels more sleeper to me, after all M5s are sleepers. The E60 is just the intruder in the bunch... But I respect the E60 M5, it is my dream car with that whaling v10

At the end of the day, you buy the one that suits your taste of driving feel...because with an M5 badge on it, you cant go wrong! |

The only "permanent" aspect of the car I don't like is the side grilles.
On the E92 M3, the starting point of the side grilles blends into the fender panel. On the F10 M5, the grilles look like they're slapped on there without any forethought. Scott, why couldn't the grilles blend into the car like the M3? |

More Agressive!!
Def needs to be more aggressive. The rear bumper isnt new just a new insert there in middle, BMW totally cheaped out. There are no unique/aggressive sideskirts. Maybe post M5 vs 535i and see what did they even really change?

Nice comparision, looks like a nice easy transition or "evolution." Is it me though, or do the fender vents look cheap and plastic'y? Like something you'd see on a Tahoe that someone bought at Walmart, trying to make their Tahoe look like an Escalade...

Wheels are just ok..... IMO, the side skirts look too boring. The side skirts definitely don't have a sporty enough look. It makes it look like the side profile of the M5 is missing something. |

I like it. It looks really. Good. As a e60 driver, I'm biased towards the e60 M5, but I'd take the F10 in a heartbeat

It's rare that an outgoing older model looks newer than the latest model that replaces it. The 5 series is a good example of this happening. I like them all but I was one of the silent few that loved all of Bangle's cars. They just look so modern and finally took car design to another level. If anything the chronolical order of the cars should look like this lol
