The AMG version which was confirmed is the AMG E50 which is a 450hp I6. The E63 version is pending but I can't imagine that it won't happen. Probably summer of 2018.

Back in 2011 I test drove the current version of E550 Coupe. It was really fast car with wonderful sound. When I asked the CA about AMG version, he said MB has no plan for E63 on Coupe... Not sure if they change their mind for the new body

We will see, but I love the car lines. The SAMG is just too big, and I will use this as a DD if it's AMG tuned.

Saw this car in Detroit tonight. Have to say it's a gorgeous car. In the flesh it is even nicer than the S Coupe - both inside and outside.

Also the car is noticeably smaller than the 6 series which I think means it will be lighter and more agile than the 6.

If I was in market for a luxury coupe I would buy one of these (in AMG guise), but I think I'm smitten with my 991 Turbo S!

I just can't get over that window design from the B-Pillar back and I've always hated MB's hoffmeister kink design on most of their coupes. About the only good thing about the E400 coupe is that you definitely won't confuse it with a C-Class Coupe because they look nothing alike. This is not true with the sedans. I have literally stood 3 feet between a C-Class Sedan and an E-Class Sedan and I almost couldn't tell which was which.

I know what you are talking about. I saw the interior in person when this car arrived at OC about 2 years ago. It's so luxury and nice. The one I sat inside had white nice leather.

It was a short drive but it handles as expected; its heavy and with the air suspension it has its short comings but it has no intent to be a true handler as we all know. But, it felt good at speed and for the purpose it serves- a super fast luxo barge that can drop its top. Being honest, I think it actually handled better than I expected; maybe the AMG shocks have been re valved. And I love the looks of it too (hate the sedan vert).
