I think we've inadvertently thread-jacked. The OP was concerned about the lack of new NAV (as am I). Whether or not the plant is open certain weeks is unfortunately probably not relevant to that too much, because the option code for the new Nav is the same as the option code for the old Nav so there's no way to tell from looking at your build-sheet whether you're getting the old or new Nav.

We won't know until someone gets their car... Personally, I'm more concerned about whether we're getting the defective rear coil springs, or the new ones.

I'm concerned about that too, but those are swappable - the Navi isn't.

THe navi can be swapped, it'd be expensive, but it's doable. I went from CCC to CiC in my M6. That took a new screen, computer, trim, and reprogramming. The updates would "only" require a new computer and a reprogramming.

More UK guys are getting info from their dealers that the new NAV system isn't going to be in the F10's until Week 36 on (Sept)! I seriously hope this is a Europe only thing because they are also getting the new 6WB dash cluster starting september builds but the US isn't.

I really hope so as well. If BMW screws the people that placed a deposit way ahead in the US and only to get screwed with the old nav, i'd be super pissed off that the first release of the car is "old".

I will cancel my order if they do not have the new nav.

On the thread jack topic, I was able to get a factory tour for 8/24 so factory is not shutting down that week.

I plan to push out my car a few weeks, even just to make sure, if we cannot get clarity on this today or tomorrow.

Does it ever frickin' end? We wait a year longer than the rest of the world to get our cars and now we find out that the one benefit we received for our patience is in doubt! I may do more than push back my order if we don't get the new nav, I may cancel it outright. Who's got the patience for this?

I just pinged BMW too. Let's see what they say.

However I believe that we will have the new Nav. I looked at the original thread where Jason confirmed new nav. It says BMW NA will have the new nav starting July production. However even back then, European board members ere saying that their dealers were telling them September production. This suggests phased intro by country.

You guys need to relax. We WILL get the new nav. in the US 2013 F10 M5. They were talking about this in Nov. in Spain. This was pretty much the basis for the delay in release for the US cars ( ie vs Canada and the rest of the world).
It is possible, if not likely that the other countries upgrades MAY only happen in Sept. not true for the US with the exception of the new instrument display that we will NOT be getting in July or August builds.
Look forward to seeing you in Munich!

Yeah guys, chillax. What if I told you, the U.S. Specs will have the new iDrive.

How do I know, because it is what I choose to believe.

My car is being made this week and should be ready for delivery in the 1st week of Sep.

I buy the car for the performance, not the new nav., but if the new nav does come with it, then it's a bonus. That's how I like to see it.

Good news from a BMW Product Support Specialist at the BMW Performance Center.

Just to follow up, I saw a dealer message that went out today confirming the new navigation system will be in the M5. Hope that helps!

Last I was told by BMWNA was that the 2013 M5 would be built with the new navigation hardware and software.

The member "richemail" said he just took delivery of his 2013 F10 (UK spec) and he did NOT get the updated navigation according to him. The plaque on his door jam does say July build 2013 and his idrive button does say "MEDIA" instead of "CD" like the old ones did.

This would be a HUGE disappointment if Bmw screws early 2013 F10 owners over by not giving us the new nav because we missed it by a few weeks...

Anyone heard otherwise? I am wondering if its a UK thing or if the poster just isn't sure himself.

Alan
Regarding the F10 5 Series, the new navigation rollout document we were able to reference recently indicated that the F10 (and F10M) would get the new navigation as of July production. However, it may not apply to every single last market (just most) and there may be exceptions in certain markets. Or, things may have changed... which would suck.

Thanks! Any info on the rear coil springs - have they started using the new ones?

I believe there's another thing they're changing which is adding a "Park" button to the DCT selector lever. Not sure when that happens either.
