ESS S63TÜ T-700 Performance ECU Software for F10 M5/F1X M6

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
A well-respected name in the tuning game, ESS Tuning has announced their S63TÜ ESS T-700 Performance ECU Software for S63TÜ M5/M6.

ESS has built some of the fastest BMWs in the industry and continues to carry the tradition with the introduction of their performance software for S63tu powerplant. As Southern California's premier ESS dealer, we were among the first to receive the Stage 1+ software to put to the test on our in-house dynojet to verify results on a completely stock 2013 BMW M5 test subject.

Needless to say, we were very impressed by the results.

ESS T-700 Flash features
- Stage 1 or Stage 1+ configurations
- Bench Flash for FULL ECU control, unlike piggyback controllers
- Optimized Throttle response in Normal, Sport and Sport Plus modes
- Reprogrammed Torque management
- Full OBD2 port access to retain diagnostics/datalogging/critical safety systems
- Top speed/VMAX removal
- 91/93 octane maps
- Removed cat check option for those running Catless downpipes (off-road use only)

Details
Vehicle: 2013 BMW M5
Transmission: DCT
Modifications: Stock (baseline)
Octane: 91 (baseline)

The charcoal filters were quickly tossed and a set of BMC Filters were added once the ECUs were flashed and run back on the dyno to gauge results with a bit of 93 octane added. With a 95whp gain and 109ft-lb. in Torque, the tune did not disappoint! The ESS T-700 Flash offers full control over the factory ECUs without relying on cheap piggyback controllers to manipulate data to trick/fool the DME while keeping full compatibility.

Flashing will be performed at EAS's headquarters in Anaheim, CA shortly. Also, greater results can be expected with a set of catless downpipes and higher octane. Stage 2 software is close to completion and will soon be offered as a package with larger turbos to those with the need for even more power.

Expect to see some quick M5s coming out of our doors soon.

Stay tuned.

Yes, we're quietly testing the ESS flash on our M4. New thread on S55 will be coming as soon as we get the green light.

Goal is to have both platforms at our Dyno event on 4/11 for everyone to see.

We typically don't announce ETA for tunes still in development, but will update as soon as we're a bit closer to release.

We will also be performing the upgraded turbos on a local M5 here.

Good job!
Very nice and linear power curve and smooth torque curve until 6000 RPM.
But, why power is dropping at 6000? comparing to stock, torque has more negative slop and power is not flat.
Is there any way to correct this?

Not running 91 octane and adding intake and downpipes will help . I'm sure they have a 93 octane graph too , would be nice to see both .

Baseline is on 91, we are on 93 octane Stage 1+ run. Downpipes would definitely help in this case, but the gains are remarkable on an otherwise stock car.

It's a very nice delta for tune only , I think we are seeing the turbos run out of steam at 6500 tuned , AMS noticed the same thing .

For those local to our facility in Anaheim, CA - we will have the ESS T-700 tune in action at our dyno shootout event on 4/11:

Soon our dealer network will be able to do our ECU flash tunes in-house. Until then they can arrange to remove and send the ECU out to us for programming.

Tom, I posted this elsewhere, so please ignore that. So, OBDII accessible? I'm not removing my ECUs, so when will this be able to be flashed remotely? Does this flash also remove CEL for catless DP and remove the top speed limiter?

X 2. I would be very interested in getting this tune without having to remove the ECU's.

OBD2 is fully accessible for diagnostics/logging and CEL removal for those with catless DPs.

Port flashing will be available down the road, at this time - the ECUs will require removal, which is not hard to do at all (especially compared to N55/S55). Any reputable shop would be able to have the DMEs off and packaged in under an hour.

Roman,

Please put my name on the notify list when you are able to do the re-flash in your area. I bought some mods from you previously when I had my 08 E60 M. Very satisfied with the sales and service from you guys.
