These are things we should expect before dropping a dime on his or anyones intakes, but everyone keeps pounding the pavement thinking that because it costs a lot that it just must be good. I'm eager to see side-by-side comparisons as well.

not sure how you managed that but with all things being equal such as weather and your skill level you would probably need upwards of 100whp to pick up 5mph. With all the crazy dyno numbers with tunes and other mods only a coupe of cars have broken 130. An intake even if it was 2 tubes that led right into the manifold with no filters hardly can make 1 psi below 120mph. There are cars adding 3-4psi with tunes that don't get 5mph extra

There is a big myth on adaptation - yes, car needs to adapt but it happens very quickly. AFR targets are what they are... car will provide more fuel instantly via STFT and then LTFT's will adjust.
It's like turning up boost on the dyno; it's not like you get the power a week later..?! IMHO, any intake is going to have a tough time making a significant delta over stock (with charcoal delete and K&N's. I have tried various intakes and presently using the stock system. |

I completely believe that, which is why my biggest motivator for an intake is simply to hear the turbo and BOV's...too bad they're so expensive, but MSR seems to be the best at that since it puts the filters in front of the radiator.

Also if you think about how a turbocharged engine works, all this crap about ram air effect of the msr is crap in my opinion. Under boost The car sucks harder than the wind blows if you look it that way, even in a NA car the engines natural vacuum would have to be over come before a "ram air" effect would make power, to produce even 1 psi you would have to go over 120mph. So the only power an intake can make especially on a dyno is the restriction a stock intake can cause, how that gets to 30 or 50 or 80whp like some people claim is beyond me. I think 5-15whp tops for any intake.

No way, If a business doesn't want to sell to local customers then I don't support it.
Plenty of companies sell in California to California residents and specify its "off road only". Also have other reasons, I will keep to myself.

BMS released their pricing for the intake and chargepipes.
$229 for the chargepipes $429 for the intake $599 for the intake+chargepipes package The $229 and $429 are introductory pricing but they don't say what the regular pricing will be on them afterwards. |
