just bought a M5 Comp and having second thoughts on the warranty

Hi All, I just picked up a 2014 M5 Competition with only 24K miles and full-service history. It looks like a new car. I purchased a 3-year warranty with United States Warranty Corp for $5K.

However, I'll only drive max 3-4K miles a year, and I'm having second thoughts about how wise the warranty purchase was and the chances of me needing to use it?

From reading the forum, it appears that only a few M5's have significant engine issues.

What is the general consensus on M5 warranties if you don't drive many miles?

If you can stomach the price tag of the warranty, purchase it. Don't own an M without a warranty unless you're okay with paying out of your pockets.

I drive mine about 2k miles/year and go without. It’s been rock solid and tuned. I’d say it’s a waste of money. I’ve had mine 6 years and spent maybe $350 in repairs. It’s a 2013.

Depends on what the warrenty covers.. i bought mine, 2013 38K and i got freedom warrenty that covers 100% of everything, for 4 ys or 100k miles.. even the rims if i hit a pothole and even keys if i lose one. mine was like $3500 and i worked it into the payment. i can even buy my own parts if need be and send the bill and they reimburse. to me this was a no brainer.

My warranty expires in ~15k miles. I will message you asking for the name of the warranty company.

A good warranty is totally worth it.
My M is currently at the dealer and the warranty company is giving them the run around, wanting them to not use new parts and not fully covering 100% of the labor.
Will definitely drop them and move on to another company.
