ran with on 13 gt500 before, started slow at 20mph as i remember, maybe the guy in gt500 did not want to play, I actually got little faster. But one thing im sure with is the DCT is just perfect, I can see every time that guy shifts the gear the gt500 is geting little behind me.

There's no way that's a stock GT500. That mustang is a 2011 as it says in the video. For 2011 they have 'only' 550 hp the M5 would smoke that car. Now a 2013 GT500 has 662 HP, that would be a close race.
Ironically was drivin my M6 yesterday and pulled up to an older gentleman in a 2013 GT500 Cab (would have been perfect cause were both cabs). Sadly he refused to drag race, as BMW says we only drove a little dynamically. |

For those not in the know: 13 GT 500 puts out ~600 rwhp. Rated at 662 hp. Not sure we can take that car unless shifts are missed and wrong starting gear is selected. Weighs around 3800 lbs so its lighter than us.

I seriously considered buying a 13 GT500 for the acceleration and the 200mph top speed potential. I hate to say it but stock 13 GT500 vs. stock 13 M5, the Mustang will win all acceleration tests and keep going when our limiter stops our progress. That said, I'd rather be in my M5.

But isn't it amazing that it puts out 600 rwhp stock with a warranty? |

Yep; turning and braking make it a different story. But you gotta give it to the guys at Ford that OK'd the production of a car with over 660 HP, goes 200 mph, does 0-60 in 1st gear and is not subject to the gas guzzler tax! Kudos to Ford for bringing their beast to market!

its an M5... from another board I read it was a manual gearbox though...loss of boost between gears is prevalent and would not occur with the DCT.

A few observations from a former two-time GT500 owner:
I have had my F10 M5 for four months now and just finally got past the 1200 mile mark and break-in service. This car is fast-- VERY fast. It took me a very long time to learn that you really need the car in the Sport Plus engine setting AND D3 or S3 to make full use of the available power. Anything less will result in substantially less than "stellar" outcomes; especially against another 500+ hp automobile. My last GT500 was a bone stock 2011 GT500. This car was great, but not refined. From a 30 or 40 mph roll, the two automobiles would probably be close at first given the 1.8L roots-style supercharger on the GT500, but I do believe the M5 would win after ~100 mph. This is the car that I traded toward my M5 My previous GT500 was a very modified 2008 GT500 putting down 679 rwhp. It had a 2.3L TVS supercharger with a 2.6 inch pulley and a 10% overdrive crank harmonic damper, larger throttle body, intake, full exhaust, and a smattering of suspension upgrades. With a good driver and slicks, it could pull off 10.75 and 132 all day (not me driving though ). From a 40 mph roll, that car would pull the paint off of the M5. From a stop, the taillights of the M5 with launch control would fade in the distance as the tires spit molten rubber into the wheel-wells of the Shelby. She was the only car that I ever have owned that could break the tires loose at 75 mph. A stock or even lightly modified 5.0L GT would be no significant match for the M5, especially with the launch control activated. It would require quite a bit more than simple bolt-ons. The 13 GT500, would once again, require a very skilled driver given the hp, torque, and live rear axle. I don't see the Shelby fairing well in stoplight to stoplight racing against the M5. From a roll it's a different story... |

it would probably be cheaper to just get an actual m5 than to do all that. |

Thought I'd share running into this guy.. Was running an errand at lunch and in my previous 08 550i. Pulled out of the post office and and then behind this guy.. Had never seen someone advertise like this... I thought the plate was hilarious and just had to take a pic.. To bad I didn't have the new F10 at the time...
