You may want to check out the carbon fiber trim - probably a bit easier to maintain than piano black and better suited for the M than the woods. I have it in mine and really like it, adds some special feel to the cabin.

Oh cool, although I didn't see that as a select-able option on the online configurator. Do you have photos?

Deposit done. I went with Singapore Gray, 20" 343M alloys and Black Extended interior with Aluminum Trace trim. Plus a lot of options....the only significant ones I didn't get were the ceramic brakes, ventilated seats and night vision.
Expected delivery early Jan. Oh em gee!!!

Great spec, congrats!
Here's a pic of the carbon fiber trim in case you change your mind...

Congrats, you're gonna love it. Now the waiting is the tough part.
LED headlights a must. Totally defines the car HUD, also a must have. Full leather, or at least leather dash. Comfort Access is great. I got the B&O, not worth the cost. Marginally better than the standard. |

I don't know if I'd call an M5 without a leather dash cheap and nasty but the leather option is really special. It blows that it's a £5.5k option.
Food for thought... |

I have full leather in this car and it makes the interior a far more luxurious place. I think Dave out it best, - full leather is like an upgrade from business to first. Plastic dash M5 is not cheap just not as nice.
Personally I would get the leather dash, leather for seat backs and leather for top and middle of doors. But I would seriously look into doing plastic for the bottom panel of the door. I have a bad habit of pushing the door open with my shoe. I have done this a couple of times on my M5, cringe seeing the mark and then spend time cleaning away the mark (no permanent spots thank god). Since I love tan based interiors, I am going to see if I can go individual on a plastic tan piece for that part of the door. So it will look good and I won't have to beat myself over it!

Ummm I wish you guys had mentioned this a bit earlier. I already gave the go-ahead on the specs with extended leather a few days ago and its already been submitted. I am not even in the UK at the moment, so I guess I'm going to have to be okay with a non-leather dash.
Personally I thought too much leather would take away the "sportiness" of the car, that's one of the reasons I stuck with Aluminum Trace instead one of the wood veneer trims. I admit the leather dash looks amazing in pictures. Oh well, there's always 2018!
