Dinan Sway's on Comp Car
So i got a 16 and am about to start getting her all sexx'd up , got her on Halloween and have been stockpiling parts! New one's to some old stuff from my 13 that i traded.. Needless to say the spare bedroom is a like toy store w goodies for Olivia and she's in for break in serv as i type so it's time to get serious!
W that being said how do you guys feel about the $1250 or so installed for these sways? i had em on both of my e60's and made a whirlwind of a diff in body roll and for me its a no brainer , Trevorm3 will say guy its a 4400lb car but i say why not take out as much roll as poss and make her feel like a 3400lb car if poss.. I guess my main Q is Since i have a comp car is the diff gonna be noticeable or does the comp suspension make this upg insignificant? Thank's Neil |

I don't have Comp to Dinan sway bar experience, but did feel a substantial difference when I changed from standard sways on my 2013 M5 to the Comp version. I don't remember reading any feedback from someone who did what you're considering, so if you do change them out please report back.
I'm of the opinion that the front sway has the most effect, so you might try that alone at first to see how it handles? The BMW rear comp sway bar is virtually identical to the standard sway, so I wasted my money on that one. |

Interesting, thanks. Did you do a progression from full soft to your current full hard setting to feel the differences? I'm happy with the comp bar for street, but something stiffer would be better for track I think.

Thank's carrerra i think ima do it either way , just wanted some opinions and real life scenario's!
i was plan on run in the middle setting's , i don't want it to over/under steer in cool or wet condition's which i believe a 3rd position setting would create Neil |

I like the feel of a car with stiff roll bars always have, I know there is the impact of non independent loading of the other wheel when your are riding on an undulated road surface, But I don't like the feeling of floating gracefully unaware off the road surface undulations, even if the car might be ultimately quicker in some situations - its a 600hp road car so how quick can I actually be legally and tracks are smooth... It's not a rally car !
The turning is improved but the most noticeable difference is when you start to load the car up in corner it feels very taught and refuses to roll. It's not hard in any way, so nothing like changing springs and dampers and if you prefer less roll stiffness you can manually adjust quite quickly to get you preferred settings. |

Thanks for posting your feedback. The Dinan sways and balls are next on my list. It's nice to hear the sways are worth it even if you have the comp pack.

I did it on my 13 and it made a substantial difference and I've driven several comp packages. I agree that the DINAN swap will make a difference.

Dinan sways made a drastic improvement on my car with no degradation in ride quality. IMO a must have if you are looking to improve handling.

Seeing as how you have them set to full stiff front and full stiff rear, do you have any problems with excessive understeer/oversteer or any problems with losing traction?? Thanks in advance for whatever observations you can share. Last edited by Blkthght; 05-08-2017 at 05:10 PM.. |

Any thoughts or observations on your experience with the dinan sways on the CP car?? Noticeable difference?? Any suggestions for the settings? I am also thinking about going medium in front and rear, but I am also considering going soft in the rear to avoid any traction issues.

Good to know that ride quality is not affected. I was worried about this. What settings do you have your dinan sways on? Also, did you notice any negative effects from the heavier steering that the front sways cause?? |

Are you suggesting dinan sways and not doing the dinan shocks and springs ?
I would think the springs and shocks woudl make a bigger difference than sways on a comp car. |

I ran the both then moved to KW V3 and Dinan sways. I found the Dinan springs very good for compliance and actually more comfortable than stock CP springs. But they are actually marginally softer than CP, stiffer than stock. The advantage is ride height and corner weight adjustment more than Spring weight.
I keep meaning to advertise the Dinan springs 2,000 miles before I went KW V3 (I bought the KW second hand on here - had to try them !) |

Dinan Sways are worth the Money, especially combined with KW V3.
