100%. Exactly my approach. I've got the wife's SUV, the daily, and the sports car (toy).
Maybe if the M5 is your only vehicle, then sure the Comp Pack gives the M5 more sports car like abilities.
But for me, I prefer to have the right tool for the job.
Same reason I don't do my 'critical listening' in my home theater, built for movies and A/V. I use my dedicated 2-channel rig in my living room which is built for music.
All comes down to personal preference and requirements.
