My M5's electronics went haywire

So nothing new here with German automobile electronics...

Caveat: I did a search on the forum for this very issue and found the following thread: http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=808094

However, my situation was slightly different as I had a ton of errors showing up on my computer in addition to the initial error (below).

~
On my commute home today, my M5's computer indicated a "rear axle differential lock - stability limited during dynamic driving - drive moderately" error today followed by literally 15 other electronic systems malfunctions from the PDC, to the steering assist, to the lane departure, etc.

The car was still driveable but power steering was absent along with my heads up display showing "_ _ - _ _".

Anyone else experience anything similar? Before I pulled into the garage, I bounced the computer and all seemed well but still cautiously optimistic at this point.

The car is fine. You have every option I'm sure, it's a lot of gadgets. Like you said, typically german clusterfuc* somewhere in the wiring. Take it to the dealer, they'll run a diagnostic and she'll be good in no time

well that guy said your car is fine, so you're probably ok...

my only advice is go to BMW of arlington over BMW of alexandria or passport in MD. They have the best service.

Reboot the car. If clear you should be good to go. If it happens again bring it into the dealer.

It's normally no use to bring it into the dealer for a diagnosis the very first time a error shows and then disappears because errors of that type usually don't register for some reason, and the dealer will say all is good.
