I ran a new personal best last night @ Route 66 Raceway. Last run of the night using MDM and D3; I (or rather the M5) managed an 11.633 @ 119.95. I was most impressed with the 1.856 60' from the stock PSS tires and air pressures.

I still have not achieved my goal of running an 11.49 with stock tune but I'm going to try again in two weeks. I'm at Autobahn road corse today! Two days of racing makes for a happy man!

It proves the Motortrend driver has no clue of how to drive a M car.

Great run! I hope you get that 11.49!

Wow man that is awesome. 1.856 is moving out! I have tired everything and can't get my 60 foot below 2.0. Closest I have came is 2.089. I even dropped my tire pressure to 25psi. Car is making power, consistently over 120mph. My best time is 12.09 @ 120.8, I didn't check the DA but it would have been around 2800-3200. And my best times are with MDM and D3 too. Are you mashing the gas and timing the hesitation or are you keeping the revs down so you don't get the hesitation?

I wanted to break 11s stock before doing anything else but the drag radials I have here for my 900hp SUV are going on for a glory pass now. LOL.

Yep and the M6 trap speed still showed that the car is making awesome power (123mph). While quartermile is a great measuring stick I sometimes wonder why so many worry about et and forget about trap and how trap is so much more important in roll racing or what normal drivers encounter.

Oh my bad, CB great times man!!! I think you are the fastest stock right? (et)

Funny how people seem to get their best times in D3. I think we discussed this earlier this year. It is amazing what the DCT will do all on its own if you let it. I used to drive mine in D3 all the time for this reason but lately have been using S3. I think I will go back!

@ Northern X5M - no foot brake. I come off the brake with my right foot and plant the accelerator on the floor. I do this on the middle yellow. Also I stage as shallow as possible. This seems to produce the least amount of computer confusion and delay. What drag radials are you going to try on your M5?

@Vic - I'm not sure if I have the quickest E.T. for a stock M5 but I haven't seen a quicker E.T. posted. Personally I'd be happy to know someone got their stock M5 under 11.50 but I'd be just as happy if I did it first!

@ColdList - I've used S3 but can't seem to get any better performance at the strip. The road course yes (maybe) but D3 gets it done in a straight line.

Thanks to all the well wishers!

I'll post up the video when I get it.

I get too much wheel spin planting the pedal. My 12.09 was taking the revs up to 1000 rpm and feathering out of the hole.

I installed Nitto NT555R DR's. They are about 1.6" taller than the PSS's. Initial impression is I can really feel the extra 1.6", and the taller tire is a bit of a step backwards in getting a better ET, but I am hoping that the DR's drastically reduce my 60 foot times. I see that Mickey Thompson makes a 19" DR with a 27.9" height, depending on the outcome of the Nitto's I might try the MT's.

I forgot to mention that my 11.63 run was with MDM on. This limits wheel spin.

I'm very interested in your results with the drag radials. Are you running 19" or 20" rims? Which size did you go with? 305/35R20? Any pics of the tires on the car?

@Northern X5M. Thanks for posting the pics! I'm sure everyone here appreciates the pics with the larger 305/35R20 tires for comparison. I'm thinking if I go with a set of DRs I will use MT instead of Nitto. What was your deciding factor in going with Nitto?

Also, are you running a spacer? Any rubbing issues? Looks like the tire fills the wheel well out nicely.

Thanks again!

Yes. The very next day at Autobahn ( www.autobahncc.com ) in Joliet, IL. which is right down the street from Route 66 Raceway (NHRA) and Chicago Speedway (NASCAR). It's a very nice facility and track. One of the longest road courses in the US. All three tracks are within 5 miles of each other.

Charlie Brown:

Just for a little fun, I plugged your timeslip into a 0-60mph calculator which uses regressive math to come up with times based on timeslip data through the 1/8 mile. It is VERY accurate as I have compared it to vbox times with a 1 foot roll-out and on average the times are within .02s of the vbox data (the calculator is usually a little slower than actual). Your 0-60 time was 3.48s! Who needs AWD or drag radials?

That's impressive - also in line with other real world 0-60 times in the mid to high 3s reported by magazines etc.

What would your 0-60 have been for your 11.835 you ran at 75-80?

It calculates to a 3.65s.
