S63 M5/6 Jb4 questions

Figure I might as well start one.

I have a 2013 bmw M6 and have K&N filters resonator delete and the JB4 + BCM combo.

I randomly have issues with the jb4 on map 2. Boost is at 10psi till 5.5krpm then shoots! At 6k Rpm.

I guess this could be fuel max etc..
Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm getting a backend ecu flash next week and hoping his should fix it.

P.s I ran the revise map 1 and no issues.
Map 2 is giving issues.

Have you posted on N54Tech? Terry with BMS is on there. Post your logs and he can help you out.

Reach out on N54 community. That's where most post about their issues and Terry is responsive within 24 hours.

When I had my issues with map 2 it was a faulty BCM. Fixed about replacement.

Do you have a CP M6? Non-CP will run lean on Map 2 (maxed fuel trims with high AFR), as where Map 1 should be fine.

I don't have comp package. So essentially I'm maxing out and need Ecu backend flash to maximize fuel trim?

Yes or run water/meth to add fuel and octane, Terry has posted many times Map 2 is a gamble as some cars (non CP) max out fuel trims so he suggests doing a few pulls and looking at the logs- sounds like you have done this and have the fule trim maxed so your choices are:

CP tune
Aftermarket flash
Meth injection.

That is what I wanted to hear!

I will be doing backend flash tune next week.

Here is my question though.. The last 6 weeks did not have one issue with map and and now out of nowhere bam! This happens like once a month. I guess luck of the draw every time I turn on the car I guess.

Anyway if backend flash will fix it that's what it is.

Might be your were just on the cusp of maxing out fuel trims and either adption over time or driving style etc pushs it over the edge.

i only run map 2 with 96 octane or better. I also have no meth so you are right on the edge of whats safe for the car.

Also what firmware are you on? 1.5 gave me the same issue, 1.4 I had none so i went back

1.4v gave issues went to 1.5v and had no issues, but slow.. Lol

So I went back to 1.4v and things work.

I'm tired of the BS so have appointment for ECU flash next week and done. Will stack with Jb4

The comp pack helps lol.

The 1.5V is additive and I don't think it's faster.

If you want faster do a backend flash and Bam!

The comp package is ok on 93 for map 2, they don't max fuel trims either

Yes, read All of Terry's sticky on the m5 JB4 at the top of the M forum and allow a day. It's VERY easy but if you are like me you over think it. Should take a couple of hours and no special tools etc.

Yea!!! That's great news! It means that it's a common issue and not a problem with cars.
I'm getting my ecu flashed and will stack JB this Friday and will report back.

My advice is to either drive it stock or do a backend flash or a elf I'll ecu tune. Don't risk anything breaking.
