Widest Rear Wheel/Tire Possible

Has anyone tried running a 12 inch wide rear wheel with 335 tire? I just saw a post that someone is running that. Would be curious on fit and offsets.

I just ordered 10 inch wide fronts with 275/35 and 11 inch wide rears with 305/30.

Thanks,
Tony

Yes, it's possible with the right offset. I saw a Morr wheel set with a 345 on the rear. Not sure about the wheel width (12?)

I would run a 285 on 10 inch wheel.

I'm going 275/35 and 305/30 to keep the rolling diameter as close to stock as possible. Many go with stock front tires with 305's in the rear but I wanted to be consistent and go up equally for both.

I would be curious what 20x10 (285/35) front and 20x12 (335/30) rear would look like. The rolling diameter for each is almost identical so front/rear would be equal but it would be much taller than stock.

335mm needs a 13" wheel width but 345mm will fit. 12" is way too narrow for a 345mm

Who is this person who has done the 345mm on morr wheels?

Tire rack shows that a 12 inch rim is perfect for a MPSS 335/30. I do not think a 13 inch wide rim is needed. Recommended is 11.5 to 12.5

In most cases more rim and tire equals more unsprung weight and you'll be slower. Not the best place to gain weight.

I am running 10.5 on the front and 12 on the rear with KW V3. This is done pure for the stance look, if you are using stock suspension I don't think you can run it 12s since the shocks diameter is bigger than KW.

Agree with that point. I think I will like my 10 inch front and 11 inch rear. Even though they are wider since they are HRE I should still save weight or at least the gain will be minimal

What size tires are you running in the front and rear?

Yea Matt, ted says he runs his stock rear tire width on the front. I tell you guys this much, it grips like a bat out of hell when I rode in his car.

Yes, I can see the mpss can go with 12" rims, interesting.... Old vipers with 335mm tires always had 17x13" rims stock.

But the down side of this size tire is the life of the tire.

I am running 265 front and 295 rear, again this is purely for stance don't flame me for taking this route. I love meaty tires and "proper" fitment. Since, I am dropping 10k on wheels I want something different than going with the "recommended" offset. If there are more stanced M5, I wouldn't mind disclosing my offset to the group.
FYI, I test fitted the rear wheel on the front. 295 front and 335 is probably the maximum from my quick measurement.
