Late for 1200 mile service

I just called to schedule the 1200 mile service and the first appointment is two weeks away. Should I stop driving the car when I hit 1200 until I have it serviced? Or is it not a big deal if I keep on driving it and it has say 1400 miles on it at the service time? Thanks

It's fine. You can drive it.

It's no big deal. You'll be fine. When I had 900 miles on my car I took a road trip up to Vegas, from Phoenix. I asked my service advisor if I should come in early for the 1,200 appointment or come in late. Round trip was about 500 miles and they said to come in late.

I had mine done at 1,400 miles.

Of course, I also pushed my car a bit during the break in service, so that makes me "one of those people".

My dealer pulled that crap on me and I pushed back politely, explaining that I paid $120K for the car, they mandate the service and I should not be left without a car for 2 weeks. I got a call back 15 minutes later with an appointment that week.

I don't know about the US, but in the UK (At least when I had my E60 M5) and they had the oil filter issue, I reached 1200 and they couldn't service it, and I was told that I must not exceed 1500 miles or it would impact the warranty on the engine. Although it does not state it in the manual, BMW did issue me a later stating it

Very interesting corporate sent you that! I was told no harm give or take a few hundred miles, but it's easily to rack up more than that depending on where you live/work and if it's your DD. Per your letter I guess there is a limit, but I'm shocked if it's that serious it's not in the manual.

I took mine in late this week too at 1,590 miles. No issues from dealership at all regarding being over mileage.
