rear brake calipers?

as we all know the rear brake calipers are very very standard looking. Just wondered if any other rear brake calipers would fir the f10 m5? either from the new f30 m3/m4? not really after performance but just looks wise. Trying to avoid covers. The real thing is the real thing.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I agree with you, the stock calipers are not deserving to be on a M5!

The M3/M4 calipers won't work. They utilize a manual parking brake and the M5 has an electro mechanical parking brake.
Not compatible is my understanding.

Agree with all the comments. It is my only knock on the F10 M5. They just look plain awful.

If someone came up with a solution (outside of cheap looking caliper covers) they would make a mint. I would love to get nice looking rear calipers.

Just to be clear, is performance really the issue or the appearance?

If it's appearance I've seen rear housing on the stock caliper, and it looked ALOT better imo.

There was a vendor in here selling covers that matched the fronts. It was $250. Wasn't worth it to me at that price but they did look good

TRW has a slightly better looking collet caliper design now but sourcing a trailing caliper isn't so easy as they're focused on leading calipers instead at the moment. Brembo will have a couple of aftermarket options but they're still a good 18 months out.

I had no issue with performance. In fact it is interesting how these small calipers can stop a big heavy car... However I believe the main reason the front rotors ended up with many cracks was the rear brakes not strong enough.
