Efficient, Sport and Sport+
Can someone please explain the differences? I have done my due diligence, but still can't find a definitive answer on this.
Thanks in advance, -H |

Throttle Settings..
E: Least throttle response; best for fuel consumption S: More throttle response S+: Most throttle response I normally drive in S. S+ is too touchy for around town, but is great for the highway.

Are you asking about throttle? If so, above is correct. I use Sport+ 100% of the time.
Steering settings are counter intuitive. Comfort is the best for handling/tight courses. Sport+ is for straight line autobahn driving.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that some of the settings do different things to the turbo?

Yes. Sport + delays the wastegate opening, allowing the turbos to stay on boost longer. Also, I believe that the DME keep the "lag time" between throttle input and engine response to a minimum, resulting in a sharper response. Since the car is drive-by-wire there are other variables besides the physical differences.

I am assuming both, but with Sport + to a greater degree. I'll have to ask a M engineer next time I see one

You can tell because if you have an aftermarket exhaust and bring the RPM's to around 3k-4k - then floor it for a second, then let off... you get a burble noise which is evident in S+, less evident in S, and nonexistent in E.

Curvy mountain roads? To each their own. I drive lots of canyon/mountain roads out here - always in:
Throttle: Sport+ Suspension: Sport+ Steering: Comfort DSC: Off Works for me at least
