I have no issues with jerkiness on M5 in Sport+. Never had an issue on my 2013 M5 (no CP) or my 2014 M5 (w/ CP).
I can either slightly push gas pedal to get moving gradually or faster... are you sure you guys are just not controlling the throttle finely enough with your foot? Have you broken in your clutches? I know when my cars were new, they wouldn't roll back on hills that easily but after breaking them in and using them, the car rolls back pretty easily now when gas isnt being pushed. Perhaps the jerkiness is from the clutch being too "grabby" due to not being worn in all the way yet.

Mine is going in for a check tomorrow, it needs the gearbox adaptations reset. Enabling 2nd gear start offs. My LCI M5 always started off in 2nd gear in D1.

Second problem was that periodically, in any of the drive logic modes, it would not shift into 1st gear at a stop. 2nd gear start added a different dynamic to the jerky take off from stop. 2nd gear start was not all the time, perhaps 1 in 4-5 drives. Once the 2nd gear start was happening, I could force it into first by switching to "S"sequential mode and then popping back to "D". Both seem to be resolved. Launches smoothly and it starts in 1st gear every time. Tech said that it was set to "start in 2nd" somewhere in the drive logic programming. I have never seen that in the menus I can see - must be something they found with other tools. |

IF you can get one with a heavy discount like I did it's great. EDIT: it's about 3 1/2" inchs longer and 1/4 inch or so wider, not much in it.

Had mine in for the retrofit heat protection mat to coolant line recall and raised this with the service tech.
Could not replicate the issue and would not apply any fix unless the issue can be located. Even if it is just resetting the trans adaptations and 2nd gear start settings. Anyone know a tech in the UK who can do the reset?

I thought this jerky on start to roll and parking was more of a normal design? but it seems like the trans adaptation reset will solve the problem? or does it only solve the 2nd gear start?

Holding steady pressure coming to a slow roll ALWAYs ends up with heads jerking forward. Inching into my garage; I look like an idiot doing slam the gas, slam the brake, slam the gas, slam the brake. Now I see why they call the M5 a beast. It pops, growls, jerks, slams you in your seat, brakes squeal too much. Its just a BRUTE of a car.

Lol, time to get your feet checked. No issues with gentle take offs and breaking in my car, even with all the mods.

So has anyone that posted on this thread permanently gotten the issue fixed? If so, how? I am having the same problems with a jerk when taking off after a stop on a bran new 2015 M5.

Because of this, I have decided to make a new video next month displaying driver error when taking off from a dead stop. Like Greentrboghst95 has said, I have experienced no issues with this even with mods.
