Hardwired V1 - Now "Passenger Restraint System Malfunction"
hardwired my V1 in my new M6 GC, now I have this error. I've hardwired all of my previous BMW's so this is routine to me at this point. never seen this error before though.
It happened after I disconnected the lighting/sos etc housing so it wouldnt just be hanging there to make the install easier. tried disconnecting and reconnecting a few times and still have the error. anyone seen this before? |

I believe you have to do some software reset. If you disconnect any of the airbags/safety systems while the battery is plugged in, it will throw an error code that you need to clear using some software.

Try holding the ODO reset button down. That's how you reset CBS, maybe same procedure can be done to reset the pass restr. warning.

Check your fuses. Got the same error when I installed my LED interior lights.

+1 on the signature.
@avi8tir: Yes, I have. Add to the list of things the F10 throws up along with the Drivetrain Malfunction. Provided 1) you have not damaged any wires or molex connectors while doing the RD hardwiring and that 2) you have nothing in your passenger seat weighting down on the mat sensor in the seat, I would let the car sleep overnight (lock it). If it doesn't go away, I'll connect and clear the error code for you. And if it comes back after that we will know there is an issue. - |

I had the same issue. My tuner has an autologic box. He was able to reset it for me.

I had same issue and error message, turned out to be a blown fuse- dealer replaced it so I don't know if it was a glove box or trunk fuse box location or the fuse number sorry.

Sorry to bump an old thread: I had the same exact error message pop up after hardwiring my Valentine into my '16 535.
Could I conceivably clear the code using BimmerCode or BimmerLink App.

Yes, as I had the same occur to me and when I made 1 change in BimmerCode and when to "Code" it asked if I wanted to clear codes. No more error code and saved a trip to pay dealership M Tax.

I have a 535 MSport, so I'm betting even though my software is different, this should work.

Plugging in BimmerCode and changing just one setting cleared the code! I'm all good now. Thank you for the help, and I hope this helps someone else down the road!

Always nice when things just work out vs a trip to dealership.
