Intake and Exhaust

Hey Everyone,

New to the forum! Just purchased my 2015 M5 on Monday. My question is What is a good intake that will really enhance the sound of the turbos?

For the exhaust what would be the best for no drone? I know Akra is great but its so expensive.

Any feedback would be awesome!

Thanks

I personally would avoid an intake and just go with a good set of downpipes. Stock exhaust is fine, but downpipes would add power and enhance the sound.

contact George (m6beast) at info@mstreetracing.com

He is a great guy to deal with and his parts are bar none to anyone else. Plus the intake puts down real horsepower/torque on the dyno. Here is a whole thread on the intake:

Thanks I will email him. By off chance does installing an intake void warranty? Or is there specific intakes that wont void?

I take mine to the dealer and they are OK with it but every dealer is a little different. As long as the intake doesn't cause any CELs, i think you will be fine.

Did you install it yourself Just curious if this is a DIY

Looks like the bumper has to be removed?

Don't have to remove the bumper, the intake has been changed so many times and designed for a quick and easy install as well as maintenance accessible without having to fully remove the intake. Also you get a step my step diagram from taking your factory intake parts out and installing the intake. No modifications done to your car to make it fit. If you ever decide to sale your car or turn it in, remove and install your OEM parts with no signs of modification.

Hey, you might be in luck. I have a set of Noelle downpipes and a Dinan CAI from my 2013 M5 that I traded for a RR Sport SC back in December. I will sell the pair at a good discount to the new price. They were only on the car for about 4000 miles in total, I just put them on in July.

The Noelle downpipes were $4500 new and the CAI was $3k. I will sell the pair for $4k. PM me if you are interested. I can send you pictures. The downpipes have 400 cell HJS cats in them and are Boysen with the BMW rondel on them. There are pictures of them in this thread.

I gaurantee that dinan intake and catted DP wont knock off .5 seconds and gain 4-5 mph in the 1/4 mile or even sound as good.

I manage a honda dealership in Queens so i just had one of my mechanics do it. They did remove the front bumper but i guess it was easier for them.

All you have to do is remove the kidney grills but really up to what you feel comfortable with.

What about heavy downpours with the filters being directly exposed to water and such, any risk of sucking in water thru the intake?
