need urgent insurance advice for M5 in UK

Hi, Aviva has put me in a pickle. My comprehensive policy expires mid-Dec and I called them to update my residence address as I moved recently and update some other details. The new address does not have a covered garage but an off-street parking. My previous address did have a covered garage.

Midway through the detail update process I am informed that Aviva is going to cancel the policy as the cover requires the car to be "garaged at home"! The fact that I live in one of the safest areas of London and my car has a tracker installed (a prerequisite of these same sh*ts Aviva before they would insure my car) but the underwriter now insists they cannot offer coverage.

So now I have 7 days to find a new insurer. Can anyone help me out and advise which company to go with? As 7 days is really not a lot and I am heading out on a 4-day road trip tomorrow.....I really don't have much time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have been looking to get an M5 and got loads of quotes, best quote was from Direct Line and it doesn't have specific requirements like garage parking, tracker etc.
Some requirements may be because of age/history etc perhaps.

Have you had a look on compare the market, or confused.com?

It might be my unique situation. I've only been in the UK for 14 months and just got my full licence last week. I was on an international driving permit before then.

I have tried various so called online quotes but for some reason they keep telling me they can't offer a quote "based on the details provided". Now that might be due to the value of the car, my limited stay in the UK or the fact that I just passed the UK driving test.

Try 1Answer mate. I use them for my Exige and 964 Turbo, the owner is a fellow petrolhead (Lotus owner), and they cater more for specialist policies. For example, both the others are agreed value policies rather than market value and automatically come with trackday cover

Not sure how it works in UK, but my US experience is to find and insurance agent company, they get you the best deals.
