Singapore Grey with Full Cohiba Interior

My M5 finally arrived and I got to pick it up on Saturday. It has been a few years since I've had a car as a DD, I was worried that I was going to miss the utility and driving position of the X5M that I traded in. After about 100km in the M5 and all I can think is WOW! What a beast! The DCT is amazing, I was on the fence whether to order the DCT or 6MT. Had there been an opportunity to test drive a 6MT I would probably had ordered one, but I am now perfectly happy with the DCT.

From the beginning I was determined to order the Cohiba interior, and I was upset when I learned that the leather coverage with individual interiors was limited compared to the standard color selection. Still does not make any sense. Anyways, I ordered the Cohiba with full leather, and the end result is amazing IMO. At the last minute I also change my mind and canceled the piano trim, I will be looking to do something in carbon fiber soon. Turns out capturing the true color of the Cohiba is pretty hard, I am no photo bug. I think it is pretty close, actual color is maybe a hair darker in person.

Absolutely beautiful!!! I really like the black leather accents in the bottom panel of the doors, great definition. Great color combo, very distinctive and original. Congrats and enjoy!!!!

Full package is $11.5K... Yikes!!! <Insert profanities here> A lot more than I was initially quoted.

But I couldn't be happier now that I finally have it. I just would not have been happy with the plastic everywhere. I probably would have just picked black as my second choice. I am not sure if a Cohiba liner is even possible. I like the black, breaks up the colors a bit. A matching liner might be too much IMO.

Stunning combo - very very nice. I got lucky and tested a 6MT - its really the one thing that pushed me over the edge to order the M5 else I would have been in a 335 or something like that. Everyone is welcome to come by and take mine out for a test when I get it

Yeah, dash is leather. I didn't grab a pic of the dash. It is just the regular leather dash.

Very much in your shoes, love the Cohiba but need the full leather. Asked my SA to check what that'll cost. If prohibitive, may opt for at least custom stitching (blue to match the MB), let's hope that's more reasonable!

It's an additonal 1800$ on top of the Individual leather cost (5000$)
Your SA just needs to contact the BMW NA Sales desk and request the individual option
for Extended Full Individual Cohiba Brown

You only get the lower doors/dashboard/seatbacks in leather with either Full Merino or
if you special order Full Extended Individual .
By default the Individual leather colors will come with a plastic dash/lower doors/etc

Correct. Lower doors/seatbacks will be in the color leather you ordered.
Dashboard will be black leather.

Also, you get the small area on the doors above the trim in leather too.
Please get a quote from your SA. I would like to know what other Canadians are quoted for this option. I paid way more than $1800. If this is true then I am go to be having a conversation with my dealer.

I'm just curious...I'm not planning on ordering individual interior. I only plan on ordering Piano Black Trim, which I have been quoted $1000 for (+ there might be a $400/$500 fee to get into the "Individual" world, but that hasn't been confirmed yet. and I might possibly splurge and go with an individual color...either Brilliant White or Mineral White.

I am undecided whether I will go for the M5, so it is all up in the air right now. If I do it, it will be sometime in the new year...I am also waiting to hear about changes for the 2014 model because I believe there will be a facelift coming to the entire 5 series range...

I am in a similar boat as you, as I would like to get the M5 when the LCI comes out. It would be ideal if it is a 2014 model (so means next July), but it is unlikely if BMW continues to follow it's LCI format for the 5-series (4 yrs pre-LCI, 3 yrs LCI). So that would mean 2015 MY is LCI, not 2014.

What keeps my hopes up is that the 5-series GT came out a yr before the 5-series, so that one is definitely ready for an LCI next yr. If the 5-series doesn't get it, at least we will have an idea what the 'upgrades' are. I would think LED headlights, touch-based nav (as in 7-series), perhaps an M6 style steering wheel are some of the items the LCI M5 would benefit from.
