+1. I can count on one hand the number of times I have trusted my car to a parking garage in NYC. Each time I gave at least $20 tip when I left the car. I never understood the tip at the end thing, I want to incentify them up front to treat me right. You don't even want to know what happens with them walking over hoods, etc. to jam cars in. I generally don't bring the M5 into the city, but when I do, I prefer street parking and it has nothing to do with expense.

Nice find. It looks like it's marked - wonder if it was on some list of trees to be removed.

Surprised the owner hasn't appeared yet.

Lesson: don't part near/under trees - esp if they're leaning. I usually avoid them anyway due to bird droppings...

+1. When I have to drive into the city I only park in the lot above the Port Authority. It's the only self park facility I'm aware of in midtown.
