well, I had two reasons not getting M6 Convertible. First, the soft top that I don't like! Second, it's heavy and not too fast! The Motor trend guy got 0-60 in 3.9 second while M5 can run in 3.7 second! The longer run like 1/4 mile or 1 mile is even worse because of the soft top makes the car less aerodynamic!
Speaking M5, I really don't need 4 door and that's why I got Coupe... my both 650i were coupe also, but If I wouldn't want coupe, I would definitely go for M5! neither M6 convertible nor M6 GC! I admire both of them but not my taste!

As said previously; In my opinion a instrumented test is far more reliable than a speedometer video on Youtube... Especially when we have two instrumented tests reporting very close times of 21,9s and 21,76s respectively.

And we also have a Vbox 0-1000m time of 22.0s @ 246,4km/h here:

Boss, looks like the numbers you posted are pretty much accurate. Watch this video I saw it in M3/M4 forum today:

0-30 mph in 2 second
0-60 mph in 4.1 second
0-100 mph in 8.6 second
0-400 m in 12.4 second
0-1000 m in 22.1 second

Seems it's pretty consistent between the various tests.

12.4 @116 mph
0-150 mph in 23.3 seconds

Perhaps the different transmission might account for that...

The C&D was with a manual and the EVO was with the DCT. BMW also claims faster times up top for the DCT. Faster shifting and one more gear ratio to maximize gearing for acceleration I guess.

The EVO times are VERY close to the other DCT times (on customer cars) we discussed earlier

MT times from Sport Auto?

I haven't seen any Sport Auto manual transmission 1/4 mile times

Do you have a link to those times?

Their Supertest car was a DCT car. And they don't test/post 1/4 mile. So there are no 1/4 mile times there, nor trap speed...

(I can't find a MT 6 test in my Sport Auto magazines with 1/4 mile times and trap speeds. They have only tested one MT AFAIK, and that was the comparison with the E30 M3 DTM. There are no 1/4 mile times in that test)

Could you possibly be thinking about a different magazine?

EDIT

The closest I get is this AMuS test of a MT 6 car:

http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=998419

This did 12,3 @ 191km/h or 118,7MPH

But, the EVO video didn't have a trap speed. Which trap speeds are you comparing here?
