You should call Fletcher Jones as Vic said... ask for "Kamran" and he will do whatever he can do for you... He is the expert guy in AMG department BTW

I find it strange that MB would be this strict on customizations. 1 of them checked with regional and came back with a no. I think it's just stupid of them to take such a hard line on a customization request.

Thanks. Will call him this week and see what can be done.

I think the only thing he would miss of the M5 is the comfort of the car and also some of the BMW tech.

I did not the 911' steering feel at all. It was the weakest point of the car IMO. And the fact it has a pornography of buttons doesn't help

you guys have driven it and own M5's--- I own one and have had an M5 so I think our input is relevant.

M6-Coupe I am sure there are some reviews about the steering but I have seen many positive ones too. (I know you will now google search the bad ones and link me so please also link the good ones )

Ok guys FINALLY I had chance to test drive the AMG GTS today. Not sure about the packages but the price point was 139k so I assume it was well equipped one. The nice handling, suspension, power, acceleration were fantastic as expected since the transaxle configuration and low center of gravity beside the precise suspension and wide track makes this super car (yes I call it super car) so especial. The exhaust sound was perfect (I'm biased about AMG sound BTW). I am sure this car crashes our M5/M6 from standstill to probably 120-130 mph...not sure about rolling... BUT with respect to all of you guys and your comments/opinions I would say IMO no way the steering and DCT even in race mode can beat my stock M6 in sport+ period. Interior was not bad (I know this is subjective) and car was comfortable even in race mode. Goes nice to corners and exits very precise. Overall I believe after SLR and SLS finally AMG made a true affordable super car which is much more beautiful and close (if not faster) than those expensive cars...not sure if this gorgeous animal can be my next car yet; however I will definitely pick her over Jag F-Type and 991 S/TT

Yes indeed... all opinions and I'm glad you finally drove one but ownership to me means a more experienced one.

I have zero doubts in my experience and ownership of the F10 M5 and F13 M6 (had for 1 year), and many others that the steering is better in the GTS. I know where Ive driven the car and what speeds (upper mid 100's and then into huge bends, tight corners, and sweepers; the steering has zero understeer- zero and have taken all my cars into such locales. The car clearly is a point and turn machine at speed and that's what I would want and need in a car. I can not quantify the how much "better" the DCT is in the M's- it just depends on the application at the time.

I don't think Ive ever driven a better RWD car.

Yeah I would buy that BMW has a better DCT, although personally I like the programming of the DCT in the Benz. One thing I don't like in the BMW is that D2 is too conservative, and D3 always keeps the car at high rpms so you can't use it as a day-to-day driving mode.

On the Steering I think it's no contest. I'm on same page as you. Super precise, tight, no understeer. M5 is very good but not that good.

BTW What is your perspective on understeer or not with 911TTS?

Its minimal and impressive, to me, for an AWD car. It is a little numb in relation to road feel but still very good. I think I actually liked the steering better in my 991 C4S vs the 991 TT-S- it felt just a little more responsive to my inputs. But clearly all the 991 racks are better than the 997's IMHO.

The GTS has so much street presence...there's one in my neighborhood and I've seen the guy gun it down the street a few times. Epic sound and acceleration from the outside!
