They could have put more rubber on it, but chose not to so it would feel more alive and playful, rather than planted and insanely quick. That's my interpretation.
Actually the major difference are throttle tuning and a but softer suspension. My impression of the car was seriously mind-blowing. I expected it to be a very dumbed down version of the 650S which it wasn't. Yes, the 650S is more of the mid-engined bad*** look and a bit more performance but it's marginal. In fact, I like the gearbox better in the 570S as well as the tech. I don't recall McLaren making any claims to the brakes being changed but I like the 570S so much I didn't realize that it had ceramics. That wasn;t the case with my 12c or my (2) 650S's.

That was hard to watch. Jarring jibber jabber. Would have liked Randy to talk some more about the car.

Looks like 2017 is priced at 400k:
http://www.techinsider.io/2017-ford-...to-show-2016-1

To be honest with you at this price point I would pick many cars including 488 , 650s, 675 LT or even slightly used Aventador unless you say Ford GT has something extraordinary like 0-60 in 2 second or ring time less than 7 minutes LOL... Noway Ford looks better than ANY McLaren or has better performance or to be more reliable than 675 or even 650 ...
BUT getting the car and keeping as collection for years to reach $1M over couple years is different story

Assuming 55-60 % residual (??? maybe ) and 0.00200 - 0.00250 MF @ 185k MSRP you need to put 25k-30k down to have $2,200 monthly payment for 3 years lease... I know there are so many variables and the calculation might not be accurate but I have a feeling that you need to put that much money down...

. When say reliable where do you get your facts .......the ford GT last produced in 2005 no issues, and they are all collector cars now worth more than the ones you list above?

If I could get one I wouldn't sell ........very low production sold directly from ford. Flip market will easily turn 300k in a year, but again I will keep doubt I would pass the application process. My company does business with ford, and big company CEO's are having hell getting an allocation this is from our ford contact.

I'll dig it up later. One of the latest car magazines mentioned this lease.

They are pretty darn iconic. He is right though on performance. One of my reservations frankly is that I drive the crap out of my cars and I don't think Ford is going to make the car nearly as exciting as the upcoming P14 and I've already got my spider reserved. :-)

You are close in the MF but not the residual:

36 months 5k miles a year is 64
MF is .00217 for top tier credit

You wont find a 185k msrp car that's base--- most cars are optioned to circa 215k and there is 9% in the car from msrp to invoice. Ill let you do the math but you are right; it will take a chunk of cash to get to 2200 a month and even more if the 2200 includes 8% sales tax.

Honestly if you spread 30k cash over 36 months thats an extra 800 a month if you do nothing but let it sit in a checking account. If you even try to invest it at any decent rate of return lol. I'd take a 3300-3800 dollar payment assuming thats what it would be.

I never looked at leasing the 650s when I was shopping but is McLaren Similar to BMW that if you crash it you don't ever see that downpayment money again, which is why its usually better to do MSDs.

on a 215k car with the high residual its circa 3200 with 8% sales tax and no net cap cost reduction --- agree its not good to invest money into a lease. I don't even believe in MSD's as the money factor adjustment is not enough to offset, as you said, investing the cash somewhere else. Although the market sucks my swollen left nut right now.
