The F and F on the Vorsteiner wheels was quite good IMHO- very good.

The Vorsteiner spoiler is indeed carbon fiber- its part of their 991 line which also has a bad ass diffuser and side and front spoilers:

The wheels on the white 991 are the exact ones I have (I mean I bought them off Eric at SupremePower whose car is modeled)

That's good to know. So in your opinion when they do their fit and finish its better in house because more quality put in the design besides the other company that forges them.

So is that yours on display on the website? its look identical to your 911 C4S

I would say that in house f and f has more accountability and more input along with better control from a start to finish standpoint. They can set their benchmarks and time constraints. But with that being said, there a few good external finishers (eg powdercoaters) that are good. Its when you get into the creative finishes and textures where quality can differ.

Ive have Klassen wheels on two of my cars: SL63 and R8 and both finishes are amazing in look and quality and these are external vendors who finished the wheels. And then I have had 16 sets of HRE's over the years. The operation is 2nd to none and Ive been there countless times to see the process, facility, and the owners. Sometimes I change it up because I only keep the cars for short periods of times and sponsorship for photos plays a role too.

The wheels on the display are my actual wheels that I bought off that car. the car is a C2S in the display.

This is the double brush tint on the R8--- over 1 year with the wheels and no blemishes, chips, etc. The Vorsteiner wheel had a finish called Liquid Silver (I think) and its very wet looking in nature and that too was well done. The Klassen and Vorsteiner wheels are forged at the same place too btw.

Yes.... and no.

If you want to scare everyone on the patio at Starbucks two blocks away from the road, love super intense high speed turns, or just looking at your engine thru the glass then the R8 is the one. IMHO the R8 with the magnetic shocks is the grippier car but then again the 991 is scary strong in the bends and twists.

The 991 is an every day driver, easy, comfortable and very uneventful IMHO compared to the R8. The interior is much better and if you are in traffic the 991 is more user friendly.

I barely put 3k miles on the R8 in over 14 months- its just not the car I think of when I need to drive 20 miles or more while the 991 is my weapon of choice for any sort of drive- long or short.

Thus my dilemma over the 458. Or the Huracan for that matter. I have never driven an R8. Maybe I should.

The new ones with DSG (ala pdk) are fast- its what I like to call entry level super car. I think the lines on the car in person are awesome and the wide booty helps. The car really does handle brilliantly and the Quattro infamous understeer is not so prevalent with this car.

Drive one- cheap by our standards LOL at 180k or so for the V10... But its high end power will not amaze you as it traps mid 120's maybe at best and it doesn't have the tq rush of the 991 TT-S. But what it does have is linear power and it comes alive after 4k rpm's. I have zero regrets getting this car and its lasted more than a year with me and that says a lot.

Ironically Im working a deal on a 458 right now but its not final.

I am thinking what you are probably thinking. Maybe I should just get a 2011/2012 458 coupe and keep my TTS also. I don't need the 458 spider.

I found a 2010 458 white with less than 3k miles--- but what are the differences between a 2010 and a 2013? Im not Ferrari savvy.

No difference. 2012+ come with 7 year maintenance. I don;t care about that.

Shoot me the options list and price.

Good things to have:

CF driver zone with LED steering wheel
Vehicle Lift
Daytona or Race seats
Scuderia Shields
Stereo Upgrade

That's a nice car. Not a lot of carbon and no LED wheel (pretty cool feature) but those seats are sweet and the black roof from Ferrari is expensive :-)

I have not driven either before, but those guys at F-chat who went from a R8 to a 458 claimed that they are not even close! They prob exaggerated, but if u can find a good deal for a used specimen, u should grab it!

Seems to be the consensus no Ferrari vs. just about anything. They may not be the fastest but they are fast. And the overall experience is extremely visceral. Even the Cali is so much fun just because the way she sounds and the raw sporty feel of the car. I may just go out and buy a used coupe myself.

Grab it while u can. The 458 replacement is likely turbocharged. I saw the new Cali T at a launch party. They rev the car stationary and it sounded good, but not Ferrari good. Actually, it sounded like the new M4 that I heard at a preview event. The shift to FI is gonna hurt Ferrari more than anybody else as the sound has always been a much bigger part of the whole Ferrari experience compared to other marques. The new Cali while looking much more cohesive than the old car, sounded nothing like yours. It's such a pity...

Oh I see that's crazy how it looks almost like your 911 but yours that beautiful 4S. That's great. How you like your SL63? your R8 is beautiful. I never heard of Klassen before but they look great and high quality. Are you going to HRE open house Saturday?
