Lease return: residual value

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
As the title states, im looking to get into a used M5 hopefully mid next year and I'm curious as to what's everyone's residual values are. I've been tracking the used car market on the 2013 m5s and they have seem to drop a bit I'm curious to know how much mark ups does the dealer have or maybe try to work out with fellow members here on a lease return purchase. I would prefer to have some warranty on the car so cpo would be preferred.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks!

2013 M5's leased through BMW Financial Services had a 50% residual value. When my 2013 lease was up the residual was around $51k, there were similarly equipped M5's listed at various local dealers for $66k to $72k. My lease was up during the summer, so a stronger market for cars like the M5 in the northeast. If you're looking to buy now it's a great time, not many buyers looking at high performance, rear-wheel drive cars going into the winter months.

Dude, you putting winters on your new 2016 or are you going to store it for the winter? I just put my winters on yesterday. They surprisingly have a ton of tread on them still. They almost look brand new. Crazy. It's still warm down here, temps into the mid-60's still but I can tell how the Pilot Alpins are a little softer and are a more comfortable ride around town. I almost want it to snow that that I went through the trouble of putting the winters on. I know that sounds crazy. Lol!

I'll be putting winter tires on - the M5 is my DD. I have not put them on yet as it's been so wonderfully warm this December! I'm still running the same Bridgestone Blizzacks that I originally got when I had my 2009 E60 - I cannot believe how well these have worn. I just had them rotated from front to rear to stretch the life a bit longer. My recollection is I still have 6mm on the rears and 5mm on the fronts.
