No they attach to the speaker assembly not to the door. This is how they create the look of a floating speaker grill.

Plus you really ought to buy the B&O if you want the grille. Otherwise you are no better than those guys putting M5 badges on their 528i cars.

Would love to but unfortunately having just bought the car budget constraints... Didn't realise they were floating.. Bit unfair to draw comparison with non m5 owners..
I was purely looking at enhancing the current boring grill covers as didn't have much say in original spec otherwise would most definitely have gone for B&O

Why don't you go custom grille cover rather than rebadge your speakers B&O?

If you want to optimize audio you would get cloth speaker covers.

That's what I'm sort of looking for custom grille covers like the B&O In a metal finish so it's a nice contrast against the black interior..

Very rarely listen to Audio for long periods hence aesthetics plays a bigger part.

Unfortunately not many places in uk that I know of do such customising hence have to rely on advise and assistance from you guys

The front B&O door tweeters (which come as a unit inc the tweeter) are a plug and play replacement unit for the HK door tweeters, but the LEDs will not light in them without a wiring loom from a B&O amp to them. 1 minute to swap.

The door speaker covers can be changed without changing speakers but access is from behind - ie you have to take each door card off, then its 3 screws to swap.

The rear shelf covers are direct replacements for the HK covers - 10 seconds.

The dash speaker needs some dremel work and a wiring loom to operate the LED and moving speaker. It's trims will only fit the B&O dash speaker.

You should know

Three screws holding in the main speaker grill on the M5? That's much easier than the M6 - I had the door trim off mine this week to fix a slight creak (which to be honest nobody else could hear ) and the main grills, which were the source of the creak, are plastic welded on!
