Turbo Lag

I have been having turbo lag issues, so I brought it to my local dealership and they are telling me the cause is from my turner race exhaust. Has anyone had any issues like this or are they just blowing smoke up my ass?

Did you check the exhaust valve hoses that connect to the OEM valves to open/close? The turners do not use them so you are required to properly plug them. If you do not have them plugged or not properly plugged, you will experience loss of power. When I first installed my Turner and neglected to plug mine, it felt like I did not have turbos at all. Another friend had his plugged but had a leak, he felt a lack of power as well.

The plugs should be above behind the rear corner bumper on the left and right side. Usually tucked in above the muffler tips behind the bumper.

Hope that makes sense.

BTW... Your Turner exhaust if installed properly does not cause turbo lag. I felt more power after mine was adapted.

Thanks for the reply. I will have to check I had hg Motorsports install my exhaust and they are a very reputable shop in San Diego. Maybe there is a leak in the plugged lines, but I agree it should cause more power not less.

I used rubber hose plugs and a band clamp. I think it was 5/16 and can be found at any auto store or Home Depot. The band clamp was used instead of glue. I wanted to make sure it won't come off and I won't have to later cut the hose if I revert back to stock

Let me know how it goes. Hopefully that's the issue. If there is a screw in there as the cap, remove and install a hose cap and secure it.
