This is what happens when a Scion runs a stop sign

So I was headed to the post office and a Scion decided to run a stop sign and collide with me. Luckily I will not be paying a dime in insurance costs, as it was her fault.

Here's the damage:

P.S. If you think my car is bad, her car was totaled. These M5s are crazy safe.

Ouch. Sorry to hear. Maybe you can work in the LCI LED lights with your bodyshop.

Crazy. Any pictures of the Scion?

I once witnessed a front end collision between a Nissan Maxima and an E93 M3 Vert which had its top down at the time. The front end of the Maxima was completely disintegrated. You couldn't even identify the engine. The M3 was still one whole piece and even suffered a secondary impact against a traffic light pole. I couldn't believe the difference in engineering between the two cars. The passenger in the Maxima's front seat also had major injuries, including a broken leg. The driver of the M3 was perfectly fine.

Similar however not as severe. No pictures unfortunately as the car was disabled in the road and towed away quickly. Its bumper dropped, coolant was leaking, washer fluid tank completely burst, and the officer who responded couldn't get the car to start. My girl friend and I walked away fine however she complained her knees hit the glove box. She will be fine. Scion driver was taken away by ambulance and I have not received updates.

Hopefully she has good insurance because from what I see I need a new bumper, headlight, side panel, and possibly door (can't open the door?).

Can anyone tell me what exactly this is as well? It appears to have bent.

cars are designed to crumple when they are in an accident,
just because yours looks better, doesn't mean it survived the crash any better.

the fact that your door won't close anymore would suggest that your chassis is bent.. and the things under the hood been bent, i think you're in for one hell of a repair.

usually chassis bent is "too hard basket" and they write the car off.

oh and good to see you care about your girlfriend

Seems like there's likely chassis damage based on the photos provided so far.

incorrect.

some people should not speak of things they have no idea about, like auto repairs.

Repairs were done by Final Touch Collision in West New York NJ. Work is flawless (paint is free of contaminants and imperfections), the owner Robert is amazingly kind and will always keep you updated. I would certainly recommend this body shop, and would send all of my other cars to them in a heart beat. MUCH better then Princeton BMW and their body shop.

I was also made aware that the wrong hardware was used to mount my bumper when the last repair was done by Princeton. They were AUDI clips!?

The repair work looks great. I hope I never need to use him, but I will, if ever needed.

Hopefully, the other driver wasn't seriously hurt. Knowing how intricate, and temperamental, these cars are...your "before" pics were hard to look at.

Glad it fixed up well. What was the total repair bill?
