Update:

Dropped off the car this morning at SDAutotech for the engine swap. Should take a few days plus another day or two for the initial break-in. I believe Steve Dinan does the initial break-in himself. They promised me some pics of the removal/re-install so will post those when I get them.

During the motor swap we are installing the DSS Carbon Fiber Driveshaft and the DSS 1200whp axles.

Meanwhile I decided to add some R888R's on the rears in anticipation of the added power...
You are fucking awesome. I can't wait to see this beast. Hopefully I'll spot you out in WLV sometime... Congrats. Awesome project.

Kind of curious as to what Steve's opinion is on your whole build? Mainly in the sense he's always been more about complete cars and balance and such, has he been all-in on helping with the big power with the motor build and all that? Such a cool project man

I just told him I want a motor done. This project was appealing because it will determine all the weaknesses in this platform. We did many flow tests on the manifolds, heads etc.

The actual power adders are another project altogether and I haven't discussed that much. Once its ready for prime-time, we will bring all the details out!

Have you spoken with DSS lately? They have decided to do a 2 piece driveshaft for the F10 M5 now.

Even for an experienced mechanic it must be a tedious exercise to make sure everything is reconnected and tightened properly after they reinstall it! Thanks for the shots.

It's best not to be the guinea pig here... although its not that bad if you have a reference engine (car) sitting around.

I have to ask, are you going to the stock air box with your intake ducting? Looks very interesting, please tell us more! More plumbing to be done with oil lines and such?

The kit is done... removed it to do the motor swap. Once the new engine is broken in, will re-install and run all the plumbing.

This concept is already running on Pure's own M6 and making gobs of power on a stock motor.

Right now everything is getting ceramic coated and will be back in the car around 2 weeks!

Yes.. stock air-box. I will dyno with and without the box to finally put the intake wars to rest

Very exciting, I envy you your adventure! Ease into it, even if the Pure crew are using it, give everything time to settle in before you hammer it. You aren't stock anymore!!!
