Glad to hear you are back up and running. Get some numbers with and without the module. For the money Dinan charges you should be cutting a half a second off 1/4 mile runs. Dyno will speak for itself.

Did you see my before and after dyno runs I posted prior to your reply here in this same thread?

Yeah, I just remembered. 99whp is crazy good for Dinan. Don't typically see those kinds of results with Dinan.

Good luck with the new unit. Glad I could help fill in the back story for Dinan to send you a new one. The Dinan tune absolutely felt great when I had it on my car. If I had not gone with dps (and the code issues), I would have probably kept it.

Thanks man. It was good to get the back story of this unit, nice to see dinan send a new unit. Let stay positive and wait to see if we stay DTML free.

Damn...sorry to hear that. Know what code it popped?

I haven't been able to drive mine in nearly a month due to an ankle injury (gas pedal foot) so I don't even have 1k since my last fuel pump replacement.

Some throttle code. 101D08 which is strange because I never had that before.

I have cleared the codes and waiting patiently for them again.

Please ... Just get a tune and be over this pain and suffering.. It's tragic seeing how much time and effort you've spent trying to rectify the issue.

That's got to be your personal choice. It depends how much power you're looking for. Mild to wild.

I never had he same code as well when I had Dinan stage 2. Hmm.. So they replaced it and still random codes. Its unfortunate really, the Dinan tune really feels good until it throws dtml. Make sure whatever flash tune you go with has a proper way of resealing the ecu.

Yeah I am just wondering if it's my Car. It is a new unit so I am going to see it anyone wants this new unit and try it on there car.

Also what do you mean by reseal? I think a small hole is drilled.

Which one did you go with?

I have spoken to Mike at BPM

I am thinking mild, similar to Dinan stage 2. What are you running?

Mike @ BPM looks like a good choice from the pictures he posted and the procedure in which they drill and reseal the ECU. I have dealt with Mike before and he seemed to be a really nice guy. I would possibly go with Mike if I were to do it again, I just don't want to decommission my car for a week to ship the ECU's.

When I had my M5 tuned locally before, I had a drill hole about .25" with some electrical tape over it. My issue with that is if moisture builds up in there, you could get electrical issues that would be a nightmare to resolve.

Are you going with Dinan for the warranty aspect of things? Or just because? I wasn't to impressed with Dinan.

my car has the complete S1 package and warranty is about to expire for the dinan products but i still wanted to keep it all "DINAN" haha. i don't plan on switching to catless downpipes since this is my weekend family car. i was just looking/ hoping upgrading to the stage 2 would give me a little extra power. I did speak with dinan and they could update my stage 1 to stage 2 but i need to pay the price difference between the two tunes.

You will notice an increase from stage 1 - stage 2
For the money, I would upgrade it.
I have Dinan stage 2 on my M6 GC when I had it.
Pulled hard and never had any issues with it.

unless I'm reading incorrectly, but why go with the dinan tune if you just read above that people are having drivetrains mal's with the unit?

Go with active and save yourself the headache. Not one issue with my car with over 3500 miles on it. Slapping jb4 cars around all day.

i would like to go with a different tune but since i already have the stage one and haven't had any issues i'd figure i'd just update the software to stage 2.
