call up IND, they did this swap back in late 2013 and there is a thread on it too but IND never updated the finished job. They can tell you all the required parts and you will need to code them after installation.

Ugh I want this so bad... LED's really make the Pre-LCI models look like dinosaurs.

You can buy the lights, but I talked to IND, they said they cant do it. They had a guy from Russia come out and do all the wiring and custom coding and the guy did not share all the details with them.

There was another guy on here with a yellow M5 that had it done. Not sure where he was at or who did it.

They sell the lights but can't be done? That's fucking stupid. It's been on my list for a while now too. Just didn't want to drop $6k on them.

I believe I have seen videos on YouTube by some asian and Russian companies that does this conversion. Probably not a mail order thing though...

I think OP is talking about the LED Adaptive headlights. I could be mistaken though. Link is below for the product from IND

its easy, my friends made them and i will be next.

the first one was my friend Ali (the owner of the yellow M5) the second one was my friend Hassan (he has black M5)

they brought people from Germany (or Russia, dont remember exactly) and made the conversion in Dubai.

i will check with them about the POC

I'm pretty sure that the dealership can do the installation and coding for you but it would cost an arm and a leg for labor costs at dealership rates. So I'm thinking the cost with parts and labor could end up costing between $6 and $10k dollars for the whole thing. Not worth it if you ask me. Also, I'm not exactly sure if you need to have the Drivers Assistance Package installed on your Pre-LCI M5 in order for the adaptive lighting to work on the LED headlights.

I'm still considering doing a smaller headlight update to the LCI Xenon lights, but the only thing holding me back would be the look and functionality of the turn signals. They are just not as good as the Pre-LCi turn signals but I actually like the design of the rest of the lights. Plus it should be a straight plug and play swap. 100x easier than an LED Headlight update.

Believe it or not, it won't be a direct plug and play. I tried this already... its def doable, but not a plug and play. You'll definitely need to swap the LCM's and then do some coding.

Wow! Didn't know that! Seems we can't win!

We absolutely can perform the retrofit, but as of now only one technician has the ability to perform the retrofit. That technician happens to be in Russia. My knowledge of the Russian language, as well as my prior working relationship with this technician, enables IND to work with him and fly him to any location in the world, to perform the retrofit work.

IND can arrange the installation, but the labor is certainly not cheap.

Why is he the only one that can do it?

The Russian dude charges you in rubles, that's also why the labor is not cheap. Lol!

I can speak some Russian too. Maybe I can assist?

QUOTE] Elebest Max from Singapore can do it too but freaking expensive. He has done it for a lot of models not only M5. He told me a few hundred coding to perform. Go to youtube and search under Elebest

That the reason I haven't done it yet. it more double price of the lights.
