Any danger of all this carbon technology and 600 plus horsepower going into something mid engined and 400kg lighter in 2016?
That's from the initial architecture and drivetrain, you have to consider body panels also.
Haha, yes but only half a response... Do you have an NDA on a certain M that is rumoured to be arriving to celebrate 2016?

We'll start seeing more stuff in about 2 to 3 years about the next M5. The next generation 5-Series should be out in 2016 as a 2017 model year. So only a couple of more years away.
I would hope they add a comp package from day one. It doesn't make sense to buy any M model till the LCI anymore since they work out all the bugs and give us more power and better suspension mods. AMG gives their customers all the options from day one and the M customer gets screwed. It's just not fair. I really don't care about aesthetic features in the LCI but at least let us get the max performance from day one right?

They are saying significantly more weight saving compared to the 80 kg saving seen in the M3/M4. I am guessing 85 kg
Sun roof gone will save a ton of weight. Carbon fiber trunk, carbon fiber hood, carbon fiber roof, carbon fiber driveshaft, perhaps a deal with akra like alpina to just make a stock titanium exhaust, forged alloy wheels, and BAM! There's your weight savings. Maybe a slightly smaller vehicle would help more and we would be at 3900 lbs with 700hp 😛 But in reality it's staying the same size, especially for how big the rest of the line up is.
