Stelvio Pass

I plan to edit together the video from our ED trip, but thought I would share this initial test. It was raining, with melting snow near the summit, so speeds were low and I didn't get the blue skies with puffy clouds that I was hoping for.

Still a lot of fun following this Audi down the mountain. Clearly, he had driven this road a few times before (and his Quattro system was helping him too, I think!).

Very nice. Looking forward to my Up and Down on Oct 4th
The Audi had the benefit of AWD, on these roads DSC will constantly light up

you went too fast for the landscape shots! (j/k)

It's hard to gauge speed from the video... what were you usually plateauing out at on each stretch? 60-70 mph, or more?

I think the Audi had driven the road before. We were driving pretty cautiously. Even though the rain had died down by the time we made this video, there was run off water on the road and melted snow on the shoulders. Enough to make this California driver nervous.

Had full DSC on here in the wet. Full throttle not possible in 2nd or 3rd gear without throttle cut off. When dry, used MDM to get a bit of wheel spin out of corners.

Speeds weren't that high given the hairpins at end of short "straights" and also the possibility of oncoming traffic (road felt about 1.5X the width of the car!).
