interesting trip man
It's interesting how you started FROM CHARLOTTE, NC to CA. I actually drove about 1800 miles from NJ to NC past week. My trip was actually from NY TO CHARLOTTE, NC lol M sedans are definitely fun to drive long trips, hauling as much luggage as we want and passing as many cars as we want to on highway~

Fantastic post/write up. The pictures from AZ are very cool.
You post gave me a great reason to take my new M6 for a drive cross country. Thanks!

Cool trip ! I'm quite impressed with the 23.2mpg average ! Did you only drive on highways ?
I just did a trip with mixed highways / mountain roads and my average was about the same... With my 135i :O |

Sounds like a lot of fun, thanks for the review. I noticed the speedometer thing too, my X5 also reads about 4-5 mph under police radar signs.
I bet you had a blast driving in Napa, there are some real nice roads up there. |

Love the post. Spring mountain up in Napa also has some fun roads. I drove through Oakville to Sonoma once and almost threw up from all the turns. If I was a passeger, I think I would've puked.
Did your dog have a lot of training prior to the Napa training? My male Rottweiler's father was a schutzhund III champion but mine can only sit, down, roll over, and shake hands haha. I occasionally watch the youtube videos of the competitions and wish my dog was more obedient. Nice car! Love the front kidney with the 3 colors. Cheers!

Great read, and pics!
I wish the current less powerful M3 had the same fuel economy of the new m5. Regardless the e90 M3 will be my next car. I just hope 10 years from now the price of the F30 M5 looks the same as the e39 does now so I can buy one My better half's dentist has a new white M5 with a stick, that car is awesome. Glad you had such a great trip with such a fantastic car and co-pilot!

great write up, I read the whole thing word to word. I've been wanting to do cross the country trip since forever like since I was in high school but just haven't been able to do it.
Your doggy looks great, wow. I think German Shephard generally are very handsome. German female doggy with Russian male name haha. Obviously, great car. Last edited by sonicbimmer19; 09-18-2013 at 04:39 PM.. |
