First two payments
When doing ED, BMW NA is supposed to cover the first two pmts, correct?

You make the first payment when you take care of the financing and final paperwork prior to your trip. BMWNA takes care of the second payment. I have heard that you have to make sure they apply the payment to your account as well...

Not sure how they calculate it, but apparently my third pmt is already due and the car is still on the boat for another 3 weeks. I spoke with BMW FS and my 1st was made on 4/27 when I signed the paperwork, picked up the car in Munich on May 10th, 2nd pmt was on May 27th and now the 3rd payment is due June 27th and I will not see the car until July 20th. Does all this sound right?

Yes that sounds right.
Call BMWNA just in case and explain to them the situation. Maybe they will be nice and do something for you. Im guessing your already paying your 3rd payment soon and don't have your car yet because you live in California, which means its a lot longer for redelivery. Unless your not in California then I dont know. |

BMWNA cant do anything about the contract signed with the dealer. It's fine.
I guess it just didnt make sense to pay for the car that is not even here yet.

That's normal @greentrbo95gst. I paid #1 (9/1), they paid #2 (10/1), and my 3rd payment I put up on 11/1 and the car was back mid November.

They've always been doing it, but I believe your dealer needs to disclose it to you.

Yes, true that you want to sign as close as possible, however, most dealers will ask to sign 10 days prior. In my case, I signed 7 days before delivery...but the fact that us West coasters have an extended shipping timeline by a couple weeks we normally have our 3rd payment due prior to Stateside redelivery.
